Not happy with the rooms. Really bad condition. Bad Location (away from Main Market), Good Staff, Really Really Bad Food, Good and open environment. Matheran is a God Place.Should avoid this Hotel. BAD

Pros: Good staff attitude. Good price, Good environment, Good common place Cons: Not in market, about 15 mins away. Cleanliness is fine but walls/bathroom etc are OLD and needs some refurbishing (like painting, new tiles and all).

We stayed for 3 days. The Hotel has well preserved huge trees, and you get a feeling of staying in forest. The Management is responsive and responsible. Good veg. food and breakfast. Furniture is old and passe. Service is reasonably good. Like us those who love to be near nature, will enjoy stay.

This is a small little resort managed by a Parsi gentleman. It reminds us of the old parsi hotels and houses. Dont expect the swimming pools and "taught" smiles from the staff or jazzi rooms here. But given the money they charge its really great. You dont miss the standard business type rooms here. and who needs air conditioning in... More

Had a family weekend trip. Is an excellent hotel in a quiet corner of Matheran. Does not have any 5 star comforts, but is a sweet little spot with friendly staff and a personal touch. More than value for money. The rooms are a bit old, but decent (renovation work is on at the hotel, which should definitely improve the... More

Needs a few things 1) A dash of paint 2) Hot water on tap If that is provided this would be great place to stay It has perfect location. Service is adequate. You feel you are at hill station and not in some business hotel downtown

The rooms are spacious and outside open space is huge. If you want that at any cost, then make up your mind to come here. If you don't mind dirty and torn sheets; if you don't mind lack of cleanliness, you may come here. If you just want a bed to sleep and a bucket to have bath, you may... More

Rooms were very spacious and clean.. All basic facilities available and the british-era look of the rooms got us super impressed! Food(Lunch and dinner) were awesome.. though the breakfast was disappointing.. Service was nice.. a little away from the market.. so highly recommended for couples and friends. May be not the best place to be with kids.. but can serve... More

Will visit again...! If you like huge spaces, old style living and looking for a quiet peaceful break then Cecil is the place. If your kids like to play outdoors then Cecil is the place. If you like (or can manage with) pure veg food (served hot), then Cecil is the place!

Rooms are huge. Too spacious and the food is also good. Only thing is if you need assistance, there is no room service bell. You need to go out and search for the attendant. even the location is good with lot of space around.
