Baruah Bhavan was not my first choice. I picked another super-recommended place and called Baruah Bhavan as a back-up at the enquiry stage.I am glad I ended up staying here in the end ! Baruah Bhavan cannot be beat for proactive service - Mr Sarkar the manager ensures it. My flight to Guwahati was delayed by 9 hours. When I... More

The saty was comfortable. Staff good and pleasant... Better then many of the hotels where I would used to put in... Food awsome... home cooked... less spicy ... with flavour of Assam. I must specially mention the furnitures and the decor... Classic and dreamy! Only small not so good ... you to pay in cash... no credit card...

Pleasant, smiling staff, neat and well-appointed room, and its location away from the hustle and bustle of the city, made our stay at Baruah Bhavan a very nice experience. Promenade along Brahmaputra is just walking distance. Main road is 5 minutes away and you get buses to Kamakhya temple base and city. The complimentary breakfast (choice of Indian and continental)... I stayed at Baruah Bhavan twice in Guwahati and I love the property and its simple staff and freshly cooked home like food. Whenever I am in Guwahati again, I am going to stay in Baruah Bhavan only. Furniture here is a collection in itself, and most attractions in Guwahati are close by.

I stayed here for a few nights on a work trip to Guwahati. As the reviews of the hotels in Guwahati didnt make any of them look amazing, and some seemed quite noisy, I thought I would try this place. Booking was done in advance, I paid for my stay with a bank transfer and they also arranged an airport... More

In case we ever came back to Gauwahti, we went in search of a place to stay. The Brahmaputra Ashok, where we were staying was a disappointment and the Dynasty Hotel that some rate as the best place seemed totally claustrophobic and time consuming being set in the middle of the main marketplace. We then heard of a new renovation... More
