I have just experienced a wonderful weekend at Oldfields Farm with two friends and what an experience it was folks!! FAB-U- LOUS in every sense of the word! Jan could not have made us more welcome; upon arrival we received beautiful home made scones, a tot of sloe gin, in the fridge were fresh strawberries, cream, new laid eggs. We... More

Just enjoyed a fabulous long weekend break at Oldfields Farm, Snelston. Superb accommodation, delightfully presented food and hospitality that made our stay just wonderful. Hosts Glyn and Jan deserve all the very fulsome accolades they have garnered here - and then some. For ourselves, we know we couldn't have made a better choice.

We have just returned from a fabulous four day break in the Peak District staying at Oldfield’s Farm in Snelston. It is ideally located just south of Ashbourne - allowing easy access by road to all the major points of interest such as Chatsworth House, Buxton and Dovedale etc. We received a very warm welcome from Jan and Glyn on... my boyfriend and I have just enjoyed a thoroughly relaxing weekend in the bed and breakfast room at Oldfields Farm. The website looked fantastic and the reality was even better. Our bedroom was sumptuously comfortable with a very luxurious bathroom, jacuzzi bath and a shower that simply did everything! The owners Jan,Glyn and their delightful daughter Lydia were wonderful hosts... More

We chose Handels Muse from the internet as we liked the look of the website and we were not disappointed. The barn renovation has been beautifully and tastefully done and it had a good homely feel. It was well equipped with everything of the very best quality , we wanted for nothing. The scones and the yummy home made jam... More

We stayed at Oldfields Farm for our wedding anniversary and took our three month old daughter with us too. We stayed in Handels Muse, which is self catering and were so pleased with the standard of accommodation! Absolutely immaculate! Everything is thought of and provided, we even had roses and a card for our anniversary and the homemade scones were... More

We stayed at Oldfields Farm for a double celebration weekend: a birthday on the Friday, and our wedding anniversary on the Sunday. We came across Oldfields Farm by chance and were lucky enough to be able to stay in the farmhouse B&B room. Over the years we have stayed at dozens of guest houses, B&Bs and hotels up and down... Don't expect a cooked breakfast. Now Jan puts on a nice morning spread. We had wild raspberries freshly picked at 6am that morning (Jan doesn't sleep!) and freshly baked bread which, if you are a lover of a continental style breakfast, is superb. But considering she runs a Five Star B&B, one would expect the option of a fried egg... More

What a great pity that the guests did not read our website with a little more care prior to making their reservation - a cooked breakfast was available for a small supplement using locally sourced ingredients and specially cured bacon at a neighbouring farm. At no point during their stay was this ever mentioned nor asked for, but then again... More

We have just enjoyed a wonderful 2 days as guests of Jan, Glyn & Lydia (mummy's great little helper!). Our visit started with the warmest of welcomes to a home which has been lovingly created & enhanced with enough antiques for several 'Antiques Roadshows'. The location is idyllic, set in peaceful surroundings, the facilities are without peer & Jan's innovative... More

What a wonderful week we have just had! Having read excellent reviews about Oldfields Farm, I was very excited when Jan confirmed that Handel's Muse (their small converted donkey shed!) was available for the week. The farm is in a beautiful and very accessible location with plenty of parking space. We were able to store our bikes in Glyn's garage... More
