Swiss House is a family run Bed and Breakfast in the heart of Castleton, in the Peak District National Park. Our B&B can sleep up to 20 people in 8 en-suite bedrooms. Our full English breakfast is, so we are told, just 'the best' with lots of local and home-made produce like British bacon, locally made sausage and black pudding (all from the butcher in Hope), and Seville orange marmalade, various jams and granola lovingly made by Martha! This is an ideal base for walking, climbing or sight seeing. We have plenty of off-road parking. Packed lunches are available and we have a drying room if the weather becomes inclement!

Arrived early and staff were very accommodating about leaving our car prior to check in which was a nice touch. Check in was friendly, quick and easy. We stayed in room 8 on the top floor, large comfortable room and very clean. The bed was nice and comfy and plenty of tea and coffee provided. Our stay was quiet and the view from our room was lovely, looking onto the castle and Mam tor. The breakfast was amazing, they really have thought of everything. The staff were lovely. This place is very nicely located for everything in castleton, we'll definitely be staying again.

Swiss House Hotel is ideal for walking weekends. Comfortable rooms with up to 4 single beds per room. The bar is an excellent recent addition, with good beer. Breakfasts are fantastic! The location is ideal, within a quick walk to all of Castleton's pubs and attractions.

Great place to stay. Room 6 was very large and bed even larger (super king size). Room was dark and quiet, no noise from anywhere. Cooked breakfast was delicious. Great location for castleton, Mam Tor, walk down the river to Hope and the bus stop back from Hathersage. Very helpful hosts. Would definitely recommend

Amazing stay at this hotel. The room was immaculate and cleaned on request to a high standard. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We wanted to go out early one morning and would miss breakfast so one of the owners offer to make fresh sandwiches for us to take which was a lovely, thoughtful touch The room itself was spacious with one view to the mountains and the other to the castle. It had everything you could want including fan, hairdryer and generous tea tray. The shower was powerful and easy to operate. The hotel boasts plenty of parking on both sides and you have your own key to come and go as you please. What sets it apart from all other hotels I have stayed at was the amazing breakfast. With tea / coffee / juices, fresh fruit, cereals, toast and that was all before the plentiful cooked breakfast, cooked fresh to order. Faultless. Can’t wait to return, so we’ve booked a week on September to stay again. Thanks for an amazing stay

Clean, well kept B&B. Room was tidy and clean. Secure bike storage with Electric MTB charging facilities. Welcoming staff. Good choice at Breakfast (please make the sausages and black pudding gluten free). Good selection of beers and cider in the bar.

This was our first stay on a short walking holiday. The room was spotless and the beds really comfortable. The staff were very friendly and the excellent choice and quality of the breakfast set us up for a day’s walking. In the evening, the bar had a great atmosphere with a good mix of locals and guests. The beers on tap were regional and well selected. The bar quietened at a reasonable time. We look forward to our next stay.

It’s excellent, the rooms clean, warm, comfy bed, large en suite, lots of coffee and milk in the room. We were over the bar area and heard nothing from below. The breakfast is amazing quality, usual cereal, great selection of fresh veg and the cooked is whatever you like, however you like it, large portions, I couldn’t eat it all! They really do want to please and do whatever they can - 1 chap even took a takeaway of a bacon sandwich as he was in a rush!

We had such a wonderful stay! The staff were very helpful, kind and welcoming. The location was fantastic too with great pubs and restaurants and shop with great baked treats across the road. The room was very clean, fresh and comfortable and the extra touch of chocolate in the room was very lovely! The breakfast was also superb and very generous - we stayed two nights and enjoyed the English breakfast, yoghurts and fresh fruit and fresh coffee very much! Will come again! Thank you!

Just returned from Swiss House in Castleton and couldn’t fault it, spotlessly clean with excellent rooms equipped with everything you can think of. The breakfast was amazing and really sets you up for the day, that combined with the really friendly staff and first class service made for a very enjoyable stay and we’ll definitely be back again.
