Family of 5 called in for Lunch today service and food was great and the pub has loads of character. We had Sunday roasts, ham @ eggs and loaded pulled pork Nachos. They allow well behaved dogs in which is good Everything is reasonably priced and the staff were very attentive

Went in for a food booking, half the menu was unavailable, waited an hour for food to arrive. The food was dry and inedible & we didn’t eat it and said we didn’t feel comfortable paying for the whole meal & as soon as we said this we were accused of being rude to staff/swearing which tables around us backed up we had not done. Absolutely horrendous service and will not go again- shame as we go every year.

Great location, lovely room, large bathroom with bath and shower. Comfy cosy four poster bed. Old charm period property. Lovely weekend stay, Thankyou. Friendly, professional staff, special Thankyou to the lovely housekeeper. Sadly no breakfast on site and at £155 per night that was very disappointing.

Hello. Thank you for taking the time to send your great feedback. It is a shame that we can't offer a cooked breakfast at The Peak Hotel, unfortunately, only having four rooms and not being able to open to the public makes it rather expencive to staff with a chef and waiter. We do of course still offer a discounted breakfast deal served at the tea rooms of our sister pub just down the road at The Old Hall, although there are lots of other café stile establishments in the surrounding area. Thank you again. I hope you can come and see us again soon. Rick

Our meal was very disappointing. Beware of the large raw pickled onions in the stew. They leave a bath of pickling vinegar in your bowl. Also if the bread as described on the menu is unavailable please inform the guest prior to ordering!

Hi Lynne. Thank you for taking the time to send your review. As always positive and negative feedback is always welcome when to the point and factual. I've had a word with our chef and pointed out to him that pickled onions aren't everyone's cup of tea. I know that pickled onions in a stew or steak and ale is a thing, but I've never done it myself. In the past, I have seen pickled silver skin onions in them, and I have enjoyed them, but they can be a little too much. I'm not sure about the lack of bread. Nothing has been reported to me, but you should be made aware. I hope you can give us another chance. Thanks again. Rick

From first entering the greeting was warm & friendly. The room was stunning, clean, warm and spacious with a lovely view of Peveril castle. The bed was comfortable (dispite the frame being a little wobbly). The walk-in shower was amazing - exactly what was needed after a long walk. The staff over our 2 night stay were fabulous. Our only issue was our room was directly over the outside area where the noise and music continued till well past midnight (1am on our 1st night) which when you're tired from walking most of the day wasn't ideal. Overall though we will definitely stay here again. Thank you

Hello. Thank you so much for your feedback. I've forwarded it onto Graham our manager and put it into our group chat in the hope that the noise doesn't happen again. I'm glad it didn't put too much of a downer on your visit though. I hope to see you again soon. Thanks again Rick

Hello. I can assure you that we used to love having you. We used to love having so many wonderful families in such a wide variety of vehicles. The only thing we didn't love was loosing so many of my pay and display spaces to such a small amount of huge motorhomes. One Friday morning I arrived in the car park to discover 9 motorhomes taking up an amazing 26 spaces, and this was before the weekend even begun. Not only is this irritating, but its actually dangerous. people couldn't get out. One Sunday afternoon there was nearly a fight involving a coupe who had been trying to leave for four hours. The final straw was the two occasions where members of our team found human excrement left in the car park for them to clean up. That was it. Never again. Shame really. As usual, a few nasty people destroy it for everyone else. Another shame is that you didn't pop in and ask us if we could fit you in rather than trying to make some kind of belligerent example of me, my hard working team and our special little pub on Trip Advisor. The chances are we could have got you in. Hay ho. maybe we'll see you again when you've had a re-think. Rick
