Myself, my partner and our dog stayed here overnight between two days of walking in the Lakes, and it was a very cosy and relaxing retreat. I had pre-booked an evening meal for our arrival, which was all homemade and absolutely delicious, especially Anne's passion fruit cheesecake! This was followed by coffee outside in the garden. Our room was one... More

Lovely b and b in a gorgeous area of the lake district. Beautiful furnishings downstairs we loved the dining room for breakfast and all the antiques everywhere. We had our dogs with us and because they had cats we just couldnt let them off anywhere and there is no where nearby walk away for them either the room was small... More

Charming farmhouse b+b. We stayed, three fellas, whilst working in the area. I know the headroom is a bit lacking, but nothing else is. Its charming, exactly what to expect in the Lake District. Very peaceful, exceptionally clean, its a credit to its owners. Breakfast was fabulous, faultless in fact. Its warm, bed was comfy, outside lots of nice seating... More

My husband and I (plus puppy in cage!) stayed here two nights over April half-term, after dropping daughter off in Bowness on Windermere. We arrived a bit late through the snow flurries just before 7pm and were thrilled to get tea and fresh cake in the sitting room by the fire. The two larger bedrooms with ensuite (were booked by... This lovely B & B is a 17th century farmhouse..therefore it is a little bit inconvenient for tall people like me (1,82m) The room was lovely, but really small, the ceiling was very low, the room door was that low, that we had to go on our knees to lock the door. The door was about 1,60m (!), so we... More

My husband and I, sister-in-law and niece stayed at Crosslands for one night in October 2011. With loads of atmosphere, this very loved house was a delight, but big people beware! Low beams and small rooms may not suit.... Our hosts were lovely, genuine people, our breakfast delicious and immaculately served on Spode china. Beautiful countryside. I loved it and... More

Positive impression made from website doesn't match reality. Despite refurbished, our room was very small with low sealing and small window not suitable for more than 2 nights stay. You can find many other better bed and breakfast with better location in the lake district for almost the same price. Breakfast was good but not exceptional.

Myself, daughter and 3 month old granddaughter stayed at Crosslands for three nights. Crosslands is a traditional whitewashed Cumbrian farmhouse, a lovely garden, low beams and age-old furniture. We were greeted by Anne who gave us tea and home made cakes on arrival in the beautiful living room with a wood burner giving a really welcoming feel. The rooms were... More

We visited the Lales District from Australia in spring and were overwhelmed by the beautiful scenery and the quaint villages and stone-walled roads. Crosslands Farm was set in beautiful rolling farmland, a four hundred year old stone house with low oak-beamed ceilings and white-washed walls. It had been in the family for generations and was full of lovely antique oak... More
