My son and stayed here overnight having called in on the offchance at 4pm. We were welcomed and shown to rooms which although small were very comfortable and cozy, and great value. This place is a very nice pub. We had a very nice lunchtime meal in a pleasant warm surrounding. The only downside in my opinion was the actual cost of food. For example a piece of cheesecake for pudding was £5.50, a lot more than in other pubs I have eaten in.

Stayed here for one night whilst walking the Dales Way. Straightforward B&B with a friendly bar and comprehensive menu. Due to the onset of bad weather I had to head for home next morning which was straightforward as you can catch a bus outside the Dalesman which goes to Kendal via Oxenholme Railway Station. We stayed at the Dalesman on a cold February Saturday. The bar was warm and welcoming as was the room. We had dinner there that evening and our party of 5 agreed that the food was very nice. Parking is a little tricky but staff do their best to help out.
