Ok, I wish we had a 3.5 rating we could award because 3 is too low and 4 is too high. So I will stick with a 4 and just say "but"... West Cumbria, especially on the coast is crying out for good restaurants. In typically tourist areas around The Lakes food tends to be functional but nothing spectacular. Pennington's... More

We stayed here on a kgbdeal (£99 for 2 nights B&B for 2). Our standard room was clean, well decorated, had an estuary view and a lovely large bed. The service was excellent, the staff friendly and helpful. We had a very enjoyable, reasonably priced meal in the restaurant one evening and a good bar meal on the second evening.... More

We booked directly with the Pennington in June for our Christmas holiday. We booked, and had confirmed, a superior room. We have stayed here 4 times before, and have always been pleased and eager to support this hotel. On arrival we were given help with our baggage "as it was Christmas" Surely hotels offer help at all times of the... More

My wife and I recently stayed at the Pennington with our 2 young nippers (4 yrs and 18 mths old). The hotel is set in an old building overlooking the estuary in this picturesque fishing village - and 2 minutes walk from the station for the Ravenglass & Eskdale mini-railway. The rooms are comfortable, tastefully decorated and well-appointed. And, if... More

I stayed in the Pennington for one night as the hotel was recomended to me for when visiting the area. Upon arrival I could understand why, despite being an older building the interior is modern, and well maintained. The staff are helpful, check in was quick and easy. My room was out the rear in the converted stables, but it... More

We spent the weekend at the Pennington when we attended a wedding at Muncaster Castle. The hotel is in a lovely position and from our window we could watch the sea roll in. Spacious, modern, clean, bed rooms and bathrooms. The friendliness of the staff contributed greatly to our enjoyable stay. Thank you all. More

The staff were extremely friendly and offered us good Northern hospitality. Our double room had a HUGE bed - two beds zipped together but never aware of the join. Tea, coffee and even ground coffee and a caffitere. Lovely big bathroom with both shower and bath, although not all bathrooms are so sizeable. Breakfast was really good - lots of... More

Stayed here for Haloween weekend with two littl'uns age2 and 4 years. Not much to look at from the outside but very well turned out inside. We had a standard room as all family rooms were booked out. Very well turned out room - nice pleasant comtemporary decor - massive queen size bed and they helpfully provided a makeshift bed... More

Dear Guest, thank you for posting such a lovely review. I have noted your comments regarding the replenishment of the coffee tray and i have spoken to our housekeeing to stress the importance of this. We are currently renewing many of the "flush" mechanisms in the toilets and they are now almost complete. Thank you once again and we hope... More
