We spent 2 nights at the Boot and Shoe and ate there on both occasions. The room was spacious and comfortable and our only quibble would be the lack of a shower. We do accept that the pitch of the ceiling would make the installation of one very difficult and it didn't spoil our stay. The food at dinner was... More

Stayed here on Sunday Night before a business meeting in Penrith on the Monday morning. Great room and staff. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Slept very well and was nicely refreshed for Monday morning. Would happily stay here again in the future for both business or pleasure.

This is the second time this has happened to me in this pub, I should have learnt my lesson on the first occasion but there certainly will not be a third! I live in Penrith (5 miles away) but traveled to the Boot and Shoe for dinner and the pub quiz on a Thursday night. Arrived at 730pm (quiz started... More

Totally agree with the other reviewers. Excellent stay in early September. Partner doing the C2C. We stayed for one night and were made most welcome. I arrived early and received such a warm welcome that I didn't mind sitting in the bar myself waitng for my partner. Very busy restaurant and delicious food. Very well presented - do try the... More

I have had meals at the Boot & Shoe several times now... We have always found excellent food, fairly priced... Helpful staff, beer very good and a good choice... Always received a warm welcome... A traditional pub with a friendly warm atmosphere... We cannot recommend this little gem highly enough... We shall return.

Never been to Greystoke before -somewhere you see on the signpost en route to Keswick, but somehow you never quite make that important right turn.Do... More

I admit that I have not stayed here - but doing the review on behalf of my husband - he stayed here on business last night and was made to feel VERY welcome and the room was spotless! Food was nice and, as he was leaving early in the morning, they went out of their way to make him a... More

Good stopping point on the way to the Lakes and onto Manchester. This was easy driving distance in the evening from Work in Glasgow. Roads around Greystoke are pretty narrow but manageable. I enjoyed the meal in the restaurant but unfortunately a pub quiz in the later evening made rest somewhat difficult.
