We’ve been to this hotel before. It’s a great location and has a charming lobby and some really lovely areas. However some of the rooms are sub par and if you try to move to another room they over charge you ridiculously. Our king suite was nothing like the advertised photos and was barely large enough to move around the bed plus it was next to the kitchen and across from the busy elevator. We asked to be moved, I specifically asked for the room we had last time but was told that wasn’t possible the only one available was over looking the parking lot. We had already paid 3700 pesos for the two nights and when the clerk said it would be 5,000 pesos to move we understood him to mean that was the total, so a difference of 1300 pesos, or about a hundred dollars more. Still far more than the advertised rate but it was all they offered us and we felt we had to either take the tiny, noisy one by the kitchen or pay the 1300 extra for the quieter larger room. Our friends had already checked into their room over looking the pool so we didn’t think we should try to find another hotel in the area at 4 o'clock, so we accepted the room offered. Unfortunately our room change was an additional 5,000 pesos, plus tax. A ridiculous amount of money for a barely adequate room. The room had a musty smell, we originally thought it was from the bathroom so kept the door closed but no it was in the room. The bed was reasonably comfortable as long as you didn’t move. The metal headboard and metal frame rattling with the least movement. I mean if you took a deep breath laying in bed the springs creaked under you! There was a tiny balcony but not large enough to sit on, inside there was a table but only one hard straight wooden chair. There was a fridge stocked with a few basics and the toiletries were fine. The tv did not offer any international stations, often there is one CNN news or a BBC news but not at this hotel. There was no elevator to our block of suites unless you crossed over from one building to the other. Our room was on the third floor so it was 3 flights up and down each time. They seemed to be short staffed as check in was not possible at 3, rooms weren’t ready until well past 4 o’clock, this was mid week. Our room did not get serviced until after 4 and we had to go find the maid to get some of the basics restocked on our second day. The hotel is charging world class rates but providing sub par quality rooms. Unfortunate, as the location is very good as are the two restaurants in the hotel but paying 5,000 pesos a night or approximately 400 Canadian, 300 US a night is far too much money when there are so many other options available in this lovely city. So our original booking price for 2 nights of 3700 pesos plus tax or 320 Canadian, 220 US ended up costing us a total of 10,000 peso, 800 Canadian or 590 US . Unfortunately I believe we got gringo’d or taken advantage of because we are foreigners from up north, despite the fact we’ve been coming yearly to this area for over 20 years, we got taken for an additional 5,000 pesos, plus tax. Had our suite been more reasonably priced I would be giving this hotel a much better rating, but I feel we were tricked into paying more and the front desk simply shrugged when I went to try and straighten out the extra billing. Very disappointing and certainly left us feeling we had been over charged. We’ve stayed at this hotel before and have recommended it often but unfortunately cannot do that any more. Possibly it’s under new management but for whatever reason the rates they are charging for standard rooms are inflated and the rooms they show on their web page are not for the room rates they advertise.

This is a very attractive hotel in the centre of Valladolid, just on the main square. There is a swimming pool and a large restaurant. Our bedroom was very large with a spacious bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful, with lovely fresh fruit, but our evening meal was disappointing.

Checked in on New Years Eve for three nights. Booking was for 2 adults and 3 children. There had been no attempt to locate the rooms close to each other and despite a request at reception they didn't try. In fact the manager was asked, a discussion took place, and it was decided that they couldn't. We were taken to our room by a delightful bellboy and he couldn't have been more helpful, however when we arrived at the room we realised the room was basically 'in' the restaurant. This may not have been so bad on another night, but the other thing we were told on check in was that there was a huge New Years Eve party (on until 1am/2am) and that it was full. They gave us earplugs however there had been no attempt to ask us if we wanted to book in for the party, or warn us in advance that the hotel (which has absolutely no soundproofing at all) had a very loud band on. I went back to reception to ask for the room (basically in the restaurant) to be changed and when speaking to another staff member was found a room on the same floor as the other room. Great but still exceptionally noisy. Thankfully the kids room wasn't. We were told breakfast started at 8am, which was too late for our next day as we were travelling to Chichen Itza but fine for the other days. Breakfast in fact started at 7am most days, they just didn't tell us that. Breakfast was fine, not good, but fine. There were a few other things that were odd too for a supposedly decent hotel. No ability to order drinks/food to be paid on your room. Having to leave a deposit to take swim towels out of the hotel. No recognition from the car park team even on day 3. No-one who knew how the car parking system worked if you needed to use the overflow car park, meaning you couldn't get the car out until we had worked it out. We LOVED our time around Valladolid but wouldn't stay in the hotel again.

Comfy beds and good air con - small pool but at least they have one! Having dietary requirements took a bit of persistence for dinner. But we got there and it was tasty. Helpful friendly staff. No kettles in rooms in Mexico so bring one with you if you prefer tea to coffee. Large bathroom with toiletries. Brek was included in our price. Very central location. Hotel has its own private car park. All good.

Fabulous place to stay! We were here for 3 nights in April, 2023. The room was very clean and bed very comfy! A/C was great. The concierge staff were very helpful and the staff over all were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was superb, as was the service. Try the grilled octopus!

Arrival and check in was great with friendly staff. Hotel location can’t be beat and is historic with lots of colonial architectural character with a beautiful interior courtyard with pool and hot tub which our room faced. Pool closes early which was a double edged sword—would have been nice for an evening dip, but the pool noise was really loud. Although they didn’t come on this trip, I have little kids and am usually pretty tolerant of kid noise, but even the screaming was too loud for me that we immediately left for the afternoon despite being quite tired from a day of travel. I got the impression that a lot of the guests were wealthy and had a sense of entitlement and let their kids do whatever they want. Kids left discarded plastic cups in water and other garbage in pool and hot tub. Room was ok—bathroom was really dated and had poor ventilation. At least the water was really hot which I appreciated after coming from three days on Isla Holbox where the hot water was lukewarm at best. There was a coffee maker, but the plug had three prongs and the outlet only had two prongs so we had to brew coffee in the bathroom! In the morning we asked reception to inquire about another sachet of coffee and the person said we had to pay 35 pesos for it and didn’t even offer to bring it—the hotel complex is large. Such a departure from the day before with the super helpful and polite bellhop offering to assist us with anything we needed. I felt like after check in no other hotel or restaurant staff person we encountered even acknowledged us. There is a roof deck which is apparently open to the public and is nice but has a lot of rules (no drinks, no food, no loud talking). It overlooked the roof top bar which we wanted to visit but by the time we figured out how to get to it, the person working the door was a complete pretentious jerk because we didn’t have reservations and was accusatory as we somehow got past the hostess downstairs. When he decided that he actually could seat us, we decided we wanted nothing to do with it and left. I had high expectations but the snooty vibes without the room quality to back it up was a big detractor for me.

Great location on the main plaza. Check in is located in the back of the building which was tricky to find. Our GPS failed us in the city so having an offline map was helpful. Beautiful room with unique tile, furnishings and comfy bed. Bathroom could have used a few more hooks. Pool area was an oasis. We enjoyed both restaurants. The upper deck restaurant has a beautiful view of the church. The only negative was they started demolition and remodeling of the rooms in our area of the hotel in the middle of our stay without mentioning it to us or offering to move us prior. The noise and navigation of mattresses in the hall was not a great experience. Overall we had a great stay and I'd recommend this hotel.
