Mum and I loved our stay at Captain Blackmores. The house is beautiful, and Garry and Shelly looked after us so well and were so kind it was very hard to leave after just one night. I think we could happily have stayed here for days if not weeks! The evening nibbles they provided were delicious and were such a... More

Beautiful rooms with a great view of the water. A bit out of the way but somehow that is how it should be. A run through Port Union is haunting as you imagine the former bustle of the town and the dreams it was built on. The hosts at the B&B are incredibly generous with their time and their company... Garry and Shelly they have a fantastic place in Port Union. It is easy to find, located at the Sea, nice spot for a B&B The room was brilliant and tidy, not very big, but we had sufficient space. Bathroom was very good. We had direct access to the huge patio, unfortunately the weather was not so warm to enjoy... More

Very nice property. When arriving, the host, Gary, impressed me by calling us right away with our first names before we had introduced ourselves! I could imagine they are not that easy to remember, but he had evidently checked from the reservation our names and learned them by heart. We stayed in the Daisy Kean room facing the water. The... We stayed along with two other couples at Captain Blackmore's for the local Roots Rants and Roars Festival. Gary and Shelley were perfect hosts in every way. The home is very well kept and every amenity needed was provided for our two night stay. The morning meal was excellently prepared and customized for each guest. The setting is ideal and... More

Captain Blackmore's historic house has been beautifully restored hosts by Garry (4th generation) and Shelly, with loving attention to detail. Spacious house, bedrooms large and comfortable. Delicious multi-course cooked breakfast, your choice from menu. Guests are invited to gather for home baked evening snacks and chat, and our hosts proved to be wonderful sources of local information and intelligent explanations... More

We stayed in the Daisy Kean Room for two nights in July. This was easily our favorite place to stay during our two-week NFLD trip. Every aspect of this B&B was excellent and immaculate. The comments on tripadvisor are accurate. Gary and Shelly were wonderfully warm, kind and friendly but not intrusive. We would definitely stay here again. If you... More

We stayed August 30th-Sept. 4th, we had a wonderful visit in the area, and were out and busy each day. Was so nice to come back "home" as that is what the B&B felt like, great breakfast, nice meeting up with other travellers in the evenings, to share the days adventures, and great hosts, Garry and Shelly, thank-you! This B&B... More

Port Union is midway between Trinity and Bonavista and is a good place to stay to visit both. Garry and Shelly do everything they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible. A freshly made fruit salad and muffins followed by your choice of bacon and eggs, pancakes, French toast, etc. all perfectly done, begin each day. The coffee... More

The place was absolutely spotless, the hosts were so warm and welcoming, the view is breathtaking and the hot breakfast huge and delicious (no charge for breakfast, included in rate)!! Can't say enough good things about this place!! Can't wait to go back again!
