Loved the roominess and the hospitality. Staff were delightful, the extras like wine and cheese, cookies and milk at night and the breakfast were a nice surprise. The location to Old Salem was great, walking/strolling distance. I would recommend the tavern in Old Salem for dinner or lunch! Also, right across the street was one of the BEST bakeries I... More

Enjoyed the whole experience. Location was fantastic, the room was actually a suite, the public rooms were charming and the staff was friendly and helpful. Great Morovian cookies and lemonade during the day, wine and cheese happy hour and nice continental breakfast made it an excellent buy for the price. Only suggestion would be that they check to be sure... More

It started with them not having my room ready at 2:30PM. The service ranged from lackluster to ambivalent and then to crown an absolutely lackluster stay I was awakened on my final morning stay by a huge cockroach scratching at me as I slept.

The hotel has a great deal of character and charm given it's rich history and careful redesign. But once you check-in and actually make use of the hotel, it's a rather miserable experience. The rooms are large with high ceilings and original wood/brick framing. Each room is two-area suite, with the bedroom and bathroom, up a short set of steps,... More

Lovely old brick cotton mill now hotel. Well chosen antique furnishings add to authentic style. Big big rooms & bathroom make for a comfortable stay with free wifi, parking & decent continental breakfast adding to the good value. Much nicer than a boring chain.

Your first impression is the large room size. The website photos do not do justice to the size and style of the rooms, with high ceilings, windows, and ample space. The rooms vary in size, as it is a remodeled Cotton Mill, but all are ample. Second impression is the attention to historical setting, with antique style furniture everywhere. You... More

I was super excited to stay here because I love old brick buildings with lofty interiors. The building is cool, the courtyard was awesome, even though it rained so we didn't enjoy it, but the room was not up to par. I liked the room layout and the bi-level loft space of the room. However, it is in dire need... More

Let me start by saying I have stayed at the Brookstown many times, but not in recent years. I do know that all the rooms are different shapes and sizes due to the history of the building. The history is what adds so much to the charm of the place. That being said, it could use some much needed updating... More

There are many things I like about this place, the exposed brick walls, big beams, high ceilings, great restaurants in walking distance. They must have read the reviews because they have in room Keurig machines now. Nice bedding and pillows. CONS-Dirty carpets, peeling paint, low water pressure in shower as well fluctuating temperature. Meeting rooms above had meetings in day... More

Stayed at the Brookstown Inn for a weekend trip to Winston Salem for a medical conference. The previous two years I had stayed at another hotel but wanted something different and with more space. The hotel is a renovated mill and all of the rooms are different. I loved the exposed brick on the interior walls. Booked a queen suite... More
