We were there in summer 2009. In general the hotel is not bad, but entatainment was qyute poor, only one pool and no animation at all. The beach was really good, not crowded, but in June there was a cold water.
Location was bad: to get the center of the town you shoul go 200 steps up and then down...

We where transfered from the Samba into Surf-Mar, due to Samba's pool being renovated.
I would like to thank the staff from both hotels for arranging the transfer, they made it pleasent and easy.

Dirty, bad catering, old furnitures, no maintenance, bad smell from toillet... the worst that your money can buy!!!... please, go to other hotel and you will enjoy !!!

A lovely hotel in a good spot, directly across the road from the beach. The rooms were clean as were the grounds.
As for the food, we have stayed in many all inclusive hotels but this one was absolutely disgusting. We could not eat there in the end, so cost us double what it should have done for our 4...

the hotel room was clean,the pool area was nice and the location great right next to the beach,the food was rubbish same thing every day/night not enough selection the entertainment if that's what you called it total crap we were the only english family at the hotel so i would give it a miss because hotel surf mar does not...
