An older motel in a less-affluent part of northeast Charlotte, but the location was perfect as it was the next exit down from IKEA, our primary destination (where we went on a massive spending spree, I might add!) By no means a 5-star hotel, but it was very clean, spacious, and the employees were quite friendly and helpful. For only $45 a night, we thought it was awesome. It wasn't in a great area of town, but we didn't feel unsafe at night. About a 7-minute drive to the "uptown" area of the city.

I went here to visit a friend and the price was right. She lived in Downtown, which is a $10 cab ride away, which still made the Rodeway more affordable than the hotels Downtown even after the $20 roundtrip cabs. They provided towels, soap and a fridge. Staff were nice and it was decently clean, but by no means luxurious.

I have been staying at this same motel for the Charlotte Auto Fair for about 20 years. Ela and Gary Patel always make us feel welcome, and we always look forward to seeing them. There is a very good restaurant 200 yards away, the motel is always clean, and I plan to continue staying with them. Don Agnew
