St Emilion should be among a list of pilgrimage places everybody should do once in their lifetime. Hostellerie de Plaisance is the right way to do it. The room under the"clocher" is superb, spaceious room, large bathroom.

From the moment you step in through the door (already awe struck by the surroundings), you are surrounded by quality. Service, furnishings, spectacularly architected accommodations and even the coffee are great.

In our opinion it is one of the best hotel we've ever visited. Great rooms, fantastic views, fantastic-fantastic restaurant (I would put it somewhere near world top restaurants without attempting to rate them). To my (rather choosy) taste, this is a perfect place. Prices are high, but well worth the pleasure.
