This was the first stop on our safari and the hotel is situated on the rim and thus overlooks the lake and the savannah. It was not the best place we stayed at but overall it was good. There was a nice swimming pool and bar. The food was good but as is the case with the majority of buffetst the... More

One of the most memorable places I have ever traveled too. The drive into the national park is amazing and then there is a point that visitors have to turn around and leave the park. As a registered guest you travel down a picturesque road and through what they call the Mahogony Gates. Be sure as you are being driven... More

This hotel is placed at the rim and has thus a stunning view over the lake. The surroundings are very well kept and so was the pool. Our room was a bit to the small side but otherwise fine. We loved sitting at the outdoor restaurant having a beer with its beautiful view. The hotel is very big, and since... More

The location of the Hotel is splendid, overlooking the lake and savannah below from the top of an escarpment. An outside bar close to the edge was very attractive and the pool looked pleasant. Inside, there was a large, buffet-style restraurant, with good food and service. From here, one could walk through large seating areas, one with Indian television and... More

We were 2 couples on a safari and spent a night at this resort. The resort has a great location overlooking the lake & escarpment, lovely grounds with well manicured lawns and a great out door bar from where you can enjoy the scenic view. On first sight the hotel looks wonderful but the rest is bit of a real... More

Stayed here for one night while on safari. The location is amazing over looking the park. The hotel is open to wild animals roaming around and we did see alot of baboons in around the pool and pool bar. You do have to sign a waiver on arrival- understandable regarding the wild animals roaming but the waiver is over top... More

We stayed here twice between Safaris in Kenya and Tanzania. On arrival the staff are friendly and made us feel welcome - a good start! Both rooms we had were of very high standard, clean with good bathroom facilities and strong, regular hot water. This was one of the best Serana lodges we stayed in. The swimming pool was clean,... Our room was comfortable and well equipped. We thought service standards at this lodge were better than others we stayed at, particularly the front office and restaurant staff. The pool area is terrific, with a superb view of the lake and valley. deck chairs are really comfortable. A dance show was offered too, which was better than we anticipated. Food... More

Went on safari six months ago in Kenya and Tanzania and visited nine national parks. Was really impressed whenever we stayed at a Serena property and this was one of then. We were there one night. Food was high quality hot buffet style with big selection. The property is beautiful. There are a series of handsome out buildings stretching out... More

This hotel has a fabulous view over Lake Manyara, and attractive grounds. However, it is a bit disconcerting to drive through the poor part of town, then find yourself at these grand gates, and the hotel all fenced off from the real world. There were not many people there when we stayed, which might be why we found it uninteresting.... More
