I selected this small, boutique beach hotel because of the interesting West African sculptural art collection the owner had put together but I was astonished at how interesting it was and how beautiful and delightful the hotel itself is. Comprised of four African chief huts, a large and exquisite round house, some garden rooms and a a beautiful art filled... More

I hovered between 4 and 5 stars on my rating - a couple of niggles on service brought it down but it could almost claim the top rating. We had a "casa plage" - which is quite set back from the beach which is probably a good thing in light of the busy beach. Very nicely deocrated, comfortable bed and... More

We live in Dakar and it was our 2nd time at the lodge in a beach bungalow. We're still as happy as the first time for the following reasons: 1) clean, practical bungalows, air conditioning for those who need it, wi fi available at the reception area 2) despite the fact that the beach is public, it's a very nice... One of my college roommates and I both happened to be in West Africa for work and chose Tama Lodge to meet for a girls weekend. It was the perfect choice. Tama is just outside of Saly in Mbour, so has a much more "authentic" feel. We walked down to Saly one afternoon and were very glad we weren't in... More

Tama lodge is probably the prettiest of the petite cote hotels, but it's small, sits on a public beach and is very expensive for what you get. Think $300 a night expensive. So I have mixed feelings about the place. Downsides: dogs barking at night interrupting your sleep, public busy beach full of people really to jump out of the... More

Very nice place and I relaxed in about 3,5 seconds after my arrival. Good place to forget everything - BUT big unfortunately the final bill gets one down to earth quickly. Price - Quality relationship really needs some amendment, it is too expensive.

We stayed at Tama Lodge for 4 nights and had a great time. It's right on the beach and is a great place to sit back and relax. This is a place that needs good weather as there is really nothing else to do but beachy things. The beach just outside the lodge is clean and well maintained but if... More

Beautiful place! Quiet and yet accessible to Saly by 45 leisurely stroll along the beach! very relaxed - didn't wear shoes all holiday! Basic continental breakfast - just french bread which was disappointing. You could buy eggs etc but it was v expensive - 2000 sengalise for 2 eggs! (that's about £3!) however the rest of the food was superb!... More

Tama Lodge is a good place to stay for a peaceful get away. Its about a 25 minute slow walk along the beach to Sally which is far enough away from the more commercial touristy bit of Sally which Tama Lodge is not as it has its own unique identity. We stayed in the Mallion room which was clean spacious... More

Our first trip to Senegal and we wanted to find a quiet hotel right on the beach. Tama Lodge was just what we expected and MORE. A small hotel with only 9 rooms, very friendly staff, unfortunately the majority only speak French! but no problem! Quite a long way from the airport and bad roads but worth it! Room was... More
