I stayed here twice in the last 2 falls, 2010 and 2012. I was alone so booked a very cheap room that is definitely not fancy, but has the amenities you expect and need including a small fridge, tv and small shower. They encourage you to recycle you towels and not waste water, which for me, is good and goes... More

This motel is straight out of the past, so dont expect luxury rooms; but we enjoyed our stay in a second story king suite which was clean, albeit furnished with older furnishings. It was nice to have a kitchen in the suite, coffee maker, microwave & large fridge/freezer. The downside was that the refrigerator had a questionable stain of something... More

Yes - this hotel is a bit stuck in 1970s style but it is an awesome value for the money. Rooms are big and clean - we had a rustic efficiency with a huge window overlooking keuka lake. It was amazing waking up to it. Our screens were in great repair so we left the balcony door and windows open... More

Been staying here since the 1970's. Can't beat the peace and quiet. Great lake view. Great people. Not a 4 star hotel, but that is why I stay here - it is quaint, unique, and personal. Great staff. Will keep coming back as long as it is here.

Yes the Viking is old. The rooms are outdated and uncomfortable. It is very rustic to say the least. I don't want it to ever change. It is so peaceful and tranquil sitting by the lake listening to the water and nothing else. I love this place. I hope to come here again and again for many years. If your... More

If you're looking for state-of-the-art Wi-Fi, 120 cable channels, and room service, this isn't it! This is a BEAUTIFUL, rustic, quiet, pet-friendly site from a simpler time. Adequate and CLEAN cabin-like rooms; ours was like an efficiency with gas stove, microwave, freezer/fridge, and coffee maker. Rooms have fans and A/C units that worked fine. Two tables and several beds gave... More

We have been staying at the Viking Resort for around 25 years. The location on Lake Keuka is absolutely beautiful. The hotel is very retro - think flea market/yard sale decor. But the beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. Most rooms have a kitchen which is a nice feature. The people who run the resort are very nice... More

If you are after a spot that hearkens back to a gentler time, this is the one to choose. Sure it's old, but the lakeside is lovely, the view is spectacular and it's clean, clean, clean. Too bad the state won't let them get that pool in shape. Lovely young woman at the desk. Great location for visiting local sites,... More

Went to the Viking maybe 24 years ago with my son. Loved it then, and it hasn't changed, so love it now...except ... the kitchen counters/cabinets show that it has been 24 years since I was last there. Yet, the rooms were clean, everyone very cooperative, lots of people there staying one or two weeks. Definitely family oriented, but not... More

(1) Having to sleep with the sliding doors closed (and decrepit A/C) because management hasn't bothered installing screens. (2) Using toilet paper and bathroom towels in lieu of (respectively) Kleenex and kitchen towels, which management provides only intermittently. (3) Swimming in a knee-deep 10' x 30' enclosure along their vaunted 1000' lakefront. (4) Figuring out the strangest shower mechanism in... More
