I was there for business in August, so I wasn't paying, but it was pretty expensive. I think everything out there in August is expensive though! We had a great time at the reggae lounge and a delicious dinner in the restaurant. The rooms are small but very clean and well done - very nice bed linens. My only real... More

It seemed Like we were the only ones staying there. The staff were less than helpful and the restaurant and Bar were closed. I know that the holidays had just ended the weekend before, but they we had a booking and they knew we were coming....didn't they...it was hard to tell. The rooms were kinda funky and very adequate, but... More

I stayed with my husband and 8-month-old son here for two nights in September 2012. Generally, I agree with Annie RGS' recent review. We spent 10 days in NYC and wanted to get out of town for a few days, so we chose Montauk and Ruschmeyers, as the hotel seemed a little fun and different. Not to the fault of... More

If you are coming here for a resort on the beach with huge, glamorous bathrooms this is NOT your place. If you want small, quaint, hip, different with a camp-ish feel then this is your place! Not quite within walking distance to town, Ruschmeyer's has a great setting of an old motel but with a very cool courtyard with teepees... More

The hotel has small, nicely IKEA-style furnished rooms with small bathrooms. That would be ok, if the rooms were 150 USD per night. The air-condition is very loud, so you wake up every time it is turned on at night. that is, if you're not awake yet because your neighbor comes home. Every word from next door is audible as... More

Great old summer camp atmosphere, with fun bar, good restaurant and basic but comfortable room. Bed was very comfortable. Hip room but sparsely furnished. No where to sit except a hammock-like swinging chair. Nice modern bathroom and great a/c along with flat screen TV. Was actually surprised to see that several families with children were booked during our stay. The... More

Let me start out by saying me and my hubby aren't used to taking many vacations... we have 4 kids & this was just an overnight getaway ;) It was perfect for us! We wanted to bike ride, hang out at the beach, go horseback riding & eat some great meals. The food was great, loved the atmosphere, staff were... More

Came for a bachelorette weekend, and Ruschmeyer's was perfect for that. The scene is fun, and the amazing breakfast buffet will cure any hangover. I think if I came as a couple I would have been sorely disappointed -- the rooms are in disrepair, with beat-up old Ikea furniture. Not what you would expect for $500-$800/night. But if you want... If you are tired of old motels with blue carpets and bagels for breakfast, you should consider Rushmeyers. It is a hipster version of a resort with great sense of style and aestetics. They have movie nights in the garden, boot camp cross fitness in the weekends, guacamole toast or breakfast and frisbees available in your room. Everything feels like... More

Calling a Dump doesn't do it justice. Awful. We arrived early at 11am and were told to come back at 3 because the only person who knew how to use the computer to check us in had a hang over. The room was dirty, all ikea cheap furniture, paint was peeling, fraying, room was dated and dreadful. for 450 per... More
