I booked Kokopelli Cave after reading about it in an article. I'll be honest -- the pics looked rather kitchy. But the cave is huge, 1700 square feet, so the amount of furniture made sense once we arrived. This would be a fantastic family destination as it could sleep at least 7 people. The cave is cool. But it's the... More

We spent one night in March at Kokopelli Cave Bed and Breakfast with our daughter and two of our grandchildren. The apartment was clean and comfortable, and the manager was very friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our short stay there and only wished we could have stayed longer.

Probably the most unusual place I'll ever stay. I went with a friend for a weekend away from responsibilities in nearby Durango, and this place totally fit the bill. It really is a cave, but it's very comfy and surprisingly large. We didn't want to leave, and we were so glad we had booked 2 nights. Very friendly manager leads... More

This one is very hard to rate. It is a unique experience and certainly that alone merits a high rating. But it fell short of our expectations in some ways. We went there as part of a larger tour of the SW, as a stopover on our way from Lake Powell to Santa Fe. Pros: Very clean, has everything you... More

“When we enter a cave or a cave-like space such as the Hopi kivas, we enter the womb of the Earth Mother, and our very molecules are rearranged by being inside her. Placing ourselves in her trust, we allow our old selves to fall away, and we emerge renewed.” (The Heart of the Goddess: Art, Myth and Meditations of the... More

From start to finish the experience was perfect. The look on the faces of our teenagers when we walked in to the cave was priceless! We stayed on Thanksgiving night and it's a holiday we''ll never forget. My husband and I are already planning a romantic trip back without the kids. Our host Gayle was friendly, personable and helpful as... More

This may be the best cave you will ever sleep in. There is a fair amount of logistical activity involved in getting settled in here--enough that we would recommend at least a two night stay so that you can take advantage of the work you did finding the place, shopping, getting your luggage down the trail, learning how everything works,... Kokopelli's Cave is truly a wonderful place to stay while in New Mexico....the land of enchantment. Everything about the cave is a delight to the senses. The kiva with tea lights...the music....the waterfall shower and jacuzzi...the amazing views during the day....the stars that filled the night sky...From the moment we arrived at Gayle's home, where we received a friendly and... We stayed at Kokopelli's for one night as part of a three- week long trip travelling across the US, and it was without a doubt the highlight of the trip. The cave was beautiful and wonderfully furnished, extremely comfortable and clean. The views from the patio and balconies was phenomenal, and we spent a lovely night BBQing and sipping wine... More

We made a special stop in Farmington on a long road trip to stay here and are so glad we did. The cave is incredibly luxurious inside and sublime outside. We were traveling with a three-year-old and found the trip to and from the cave to be a complete non-issue (we're all in good but not exceptional physical shape). Dining... More
