There is a saying that there is no place like home and in reality that is true. However, if you could take home on the road, it would be located at The Lion and The Rose in Whitfield, NH. Roger and Chris have created a warm environment, a personable sense of hospitality, along with a unique sense of style that... More

It's not as close to the White Mountains as it appears on a map, but the long, windy drive was certainly worth it. Chris and Roger were great and we enjoyed sitting out on the porch drinking wine and eating cheese and crackers the evening we arrived. The only downside to sitting on the porch (which wasn't their fault) was... More

We stayed here for a night during a leaf peeping trip to New Hampshire. Our room had an Egyptian theme, as in a pop culture way, versus a museum. It was great. We had a two person shower, two person Jacuzzi (great after a day of hiking), a balcony, and a comfy king size bed. The innkeepers, Roger and Chris,... More

Chris and Roger are the perfect hosts! My husband and I stayed in the "Lion's Den" room and it was gorgeous! Chris thought of every little thing to make our stay most enjoyable! She and Roger made you feel right at home! They were a delight to talk to and helpful in every way. Their home is beautiful and the... More

Old victorian house with themed rooms located on the main street. All the rooms are beautiful and the attention to detail for each room is impressive . The entire inn is spotless and the innkeepers are the nicest, friendliest people we have ever met. We absolutely loved our stay partly because of the wonderful accommodations but also the innkeepers were... More

The INN is lovely. The breakfasts were awesome. Roger and Chris are the best. They are so friendly. Chris would meet us the door when we came back from our daily trips just to see how our day was. Nicest Inn keepers we have ever met. Worth the trip. More

The Lion and the Rose is a charming, renovated (and creatively decorated) Victorian home-turned B&B Roger and Chris were delightful and engaging hosts who went out of their way to make everyone feel welcomed, including making helpful recommendations for sightseeing and dining and offering a glass of wine in the late afternoon. They prepared a delicious, hearty breakfast each morning... More

We booked the French Quarter room at the Lion and the Rose B&B and couldn't wait to head up for the weekend. Hurricane Irene had other plans. Luckily for us, the Lion and the Rose is managed by two of the most accommodating, friendly, and kind people we've ever encountered in our many years of traveling the world. Chris and... More

My husband and I planned a very spur of the moment trip to New Hampshire in July. I found this B&B on the internet and gave them a call. The owners were very personable and accomodating. We were greeted with a afternoon wine reception on the porch where we met the other guests and learned about the area. I have... More
