The only place on the island that would make you totally happy is The Inn on Mackinac. The location is perfect . I love the antiquies. Warm evening cookies. Afternoon crackers and cheese. The hospitality team cant be beat ! Breakfast is something you enjoy in the morning ---inside or out . Want a fabulous latte ? They have the best... More

We have stayed at the Inn on Mackinac Island many times. It could use updating, however, we find it charming just the way it is. The wrap-around porch is a favorite place to relax, read, and people watch. Fudge can be purchased on the lower level if your sweet tooth is calling. There is a lovely breakfast room with lots... This is our place to stay when we visit the island. It is close enough to town for a nice walk, but far enough to miss most of that noise. The front veranda is a great place to sit and watch people pass by, and the spa pool located on the property is wonderful. The staff puts out cheese and... More

We were extremely pleased with our recent stay at the Inn on Mackinac. The location is always very important to us, and this was ideal. We were on the main street within easy walking distance of most everything but not in the middle of all the downtown hub-bub and touristy area. We spent a short time just sitting on the... More

We stayed for 3 nights in September 2012 and while we loved the Island, The Inn needs help. One would expect a 4 star hotel for the cost of this hotel. The Inn is not. The beds were small and fairly comfortable, but the bedding was old and thin. The bed spreads were cheap Walmart type. The bathroom is very... More

The Good...The Inn on Mackinac is in a very nice location, the porch is great to sit on, the staff was very nice, and my daughter enjoyed the breakfast. The Bad... You can hear EVERYTHING in the room next door and out in the hallway. And I mean whole conversations, the TV, the iPhone alarm. And our room had a... More

My wife and I stayed here for three nights just after Labor Day taking advantage of the Inn's lower rates plus the extra 15% offered for booking well in advance. We had stayed on the island a few years before and had thought this would be a neat place to stay from our observations from having past the Inn numerous... More

This inn was very accomodating when I first booked it months in advance. When we arrived, it was quaint and charming, with helpful staff at the desk at all times. The decor is a lot of antiques that are well maintained, the beds are comfortable and there are plenty of extra pillows. You can hear other room's plumbing at times,... More

We arrived just before 2 pm. We were told our room would be "just a few minutes". We ate lunch and returned and the room still wasn't ready. We have 2 kids and were looking forward to arriving, getting changed, and going biking, and instead we're stuck waiting around. The woman behind the desk is very flip about the situation.... More

I've gone up to Mackinac Island nearly every year since I was born and have stayed in a myriad of places up there, but this place just rocks. The location is excellent because it's close enough to downtown to still be able to walk everywhere (though I always bike), yet far enough at the edge of town to be quiet... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The year was 1867, an era of horse-drawn carriages and ladies in bustles. Blacksmiths were crafting horse shoes in glowing forges. During this height of Victorian culture, the Inn on Mackinac was built. Known then as Chateau Beaumont in memory of the famous Army surgeon at Fort Mackinac, the Inn on Mackinac has retained its quaint, old fashioned charm. The Inn’s facilities have been updated to meet the needs of the modern traveler while preserving its colorful history. Today, completely remodeled and redecorated, this beautiful Victorian Inn opens its doors, where the very special charm of our family-run Inn awaits you. ... more   less
