Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic. We rolled into town without a reservation we stayed in cabin #2 very nice. Tiny but everything we needed We would of liked to move into #7. 6 and 7 were huge we will definitely. Reserve ahead next time. The ladies in the gift shop were awesome. The owner who we met 30 years ago. Is still there. How cool is that. We loved our 2 day stay. Plus free ice.

Spacious and clean. Staff very nice, helpful, and accommodating. Appreciate the information provided about restaurants and local activities, like the ferry to Isle Royale. We checked in very late but our room was well-prepared for us; even left the lights on so we could easily find our way. Very pleasant!!

Art, Johanna and the Minnetonka Resort family always take good care of us when we visit Copper Harbor. There's nothing like the feeling of seeing the rustic cabins as you end your journey down 41 into town--roll down the windows and breathe in the fresh air! We've stayed at a few different cabins on the property over the years, and always enjoy our stay. The accommodations are rustic, clean, and well-maintained. The location is prime and within walking distance to everything in the harbor.

This motel was clean, comfortable, and exceeded our needs. We stayed here the night before sailing on Queen IV to Isle Royale. The lady in the office was super helpful and friendly. She gave us recommendations for dinner and where to see waterfalls and the sunset. Upon returning from Isle Royale, we were happy to stay another night in this wonderful place.

We had a pleasant stay in our cottage at Minnetonka Resort. It was a classic knotty pine unit straight from the 1940s, definitely well-worn but clean and adequate. Our bathroom was tiny and could use some updating, but the shower was hot. We stayed in the duplex unit, which we would not recommend as we heard literally everything happening in the adjoining unit. Perfect location for walking around town and to the ferry dock. The staff are wonderfully nice people and made us feel very welcome!

We stopped into Thunderbird Gifts and met Becca. She was super helpful in the store and also gave us some GREAT tips on where to stop on our drive back to Ontonagon. She was the epitome of customer service. Be more like Becca.

We stayed in our cottage during a road trip exploring the Great Lakes region. It was was perfectly outfitted for all of our needs. It had a kitchen stocked with necessary equipment, a table and chairs for eating meals, 2 queen size beds, even a porch and BBQ grill. There was a ceiling fan and great cross ventilation. We woke up to a couple of deer next to our car. For those so inclined, there was a spa next door offering massage.

I’ve stayed in nearly all of the small hotels in Copper Harbor, before and after trips to Isle Royale. All I need, in the words of Dale Cooper, is a “clean room, reasonably priced.” We got that here, and got a great night’s sleep. This place is right on the main road, so I was worried that we’d be bothered by traffic noise, especially given the number of motorcycles in town. We were pleasantly surprised with the quiet, though. The hotel is basic, which is what you usually get in this small town. But we were very happy with the linens and towels and the toiletries. The small coffee pot and fridge in the room were nice touches too. The room was spacious, plenty of room around the beds for us to organize our packs. Beds were comfortable. Loved the alarm clock with the two USB charging ports right in front. This is my new go-to hotel in Copper Harbor.

I stayed here for one night in a motel room with two teens. Unfortunately we arrived really late because I definitely would have like to stay longer. The room was clean, there were chairs outside the door to relax in. The woman in the gift shop in the morning was very friendly and helpful. Copper Harbor is tiny and doesn't seem to have a whole lot going on, but it's a very cute town and I hope to return to the area some day. My one word of caution - the mini fridge in our room was REALLY cold and froze everything we put in it. Probably not a big issue for most people but I put my daughter's insulin in. Fortunately it seemed just the soggy cardboard (from melted cooler ice) around it froze and not the insulin itself, but it's not an issue I've encountered with other hotel fridges so just beware if you have something that can't be frozen.

Took a leaf-peeper trip & decided on this resort. Was given a duplex(cottage) which ws cute, comfortable & met all my needs. Bed was warm, nice t.v., coffee, & warm shower. Right in town, walking distance to everything & staff was welcoming. Good value for a nice visit. Power went out due to a storm, but managed to tough it out, as a nearby gas station had coffee when the town went dark. Will return again as I was pleased with the experience. Park at the door, park-like setting & quiet at night.
