Within minutes of various wildlife sanctuaries, rivers, waterways and marshes, where hundreds of bird species can be observed. Kayak and canoe rentals are available on the Pocomoke River or the Tangier Sound (opening to the Bay). A ferry boat ride away are Smith Island and Tangier Islands, where Colonial English/Cornish dialects are still spoken.
