Based on the on-line reviews, I had high hopes. Having recently stayed there, I wondered if I was even in the same place as those other reviewers. Hotel and inn owners seem very reluctant to do a complete renovation on their properties. While the bathroom and PARTS of the kitchen have been re-done, the Belle of Maine is screaming for... More

We really enjoyed our stay in a cottage at Belle of Maine in July. Our cottage was very clean and well maintained and we really appreciated our screened-in porch. The only improvement I would recommend would be to assign a gril to each cottage. This way, people would not have to hunt for a gril each time they want to... More

We've been renting a cottage at the Belle of Maine for over 8 years and keep coming back because it's clean, quiet, and a great value. You can walk to Wells Beach and a quick car ride to Drake's Island Beach. Hosts Jim and Mina Skeats are gracious and helpful. Highly recommended.

We have been going to the Bell of Maine for 9 years now and we would not go anywhere else. It is a great place to relax and is close to so much. Jim and Mina are outstanding owners. It is family friendly, so much that our kids(ages 11 and 10) have friends that they look forward to seeing all... More

We looked at several other locations on the Rt 1 stretch and were lucky enough to pass just as they were removing the no vacancy sign. We stopped in and were so pleasantly surprised that we're planning on returning again later this year. The owner was as friendly and helpful as could be, and the property was wonderfully maintained. Quite... More

We always prefer to stay at Belle of Maine if they have cottages available. Location is perfect for us, easy to get to and from our Maine destinations. Always clean, Jim and Mina are very accommodating. I love the little porches, the outdoor hot tub and the friendly people.

Our first trip to the East Coast and we hit 'GOLD'. We loved our stay at the Belle of Maine. Their beautiful grounds, covenient location, and delightful hosts, Jim & MIna, gave us the vacation of our dreams. Our two children loved the pool, games, and close proximety to the beach. I was really impressed when I received a personal... More

Regardless of what you may glean from the photos on their web site this place is no "Belle". The motel and cabins are located right on the busy main drag, not close to the beach, and definitely not within walking distance. It's tourist hell. There's a hundred yard or so paved road with barracks style huts and a "luxury suites"... More
