My boyfriend and I spent this past weekend at the Hartwell House. The inn is beautiful, quiet, clean, comfortable and breakfast was delicious! Only a short 4 minute walk to Perkins Cove and the Marginal Way, the location is wonderful! The garden in the back is also beautiful! What really made our stay outstanding was the incredible hospitality of the... More

We have stayed in numerous B&bs but this was our fitst stay at The Hartwell House and we wll definitely return . Room was very clean and nicely furnished, but what will guarantee our return are the innkeelers, Charlene and Eric were very friendly, helpful and very pleasant. They really made us feel at home. Breakfasts were excellent and used... More

My husband and I spent Mother's Day weekend at the Hartwell House in Ogunquit, We would highly recommend this inn. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. Even though the weather was rainy, the view of the back gardens is enchanting, lush gardens with sounds of birds. The omelet breakfast was incredible and the nice touches of flowers... More

The Hartwell House Inn has been our Ogunquit destination for over 15 years. With Charlene and Eric, the new on-site innkeepers, the inn is sure to have another terrific season. We enjoyed a brief visit last week with friends from Quebec, and the farewell breakfast wtih Charlene's amazing Swedish bread French toast (really!) was a highlight.

We spent another fall weekend this year at the Hartwell Inn and were not disappointed. We rented three rooms across the street at their annex - loved it. It's a newer building, with rooms that are actually larger than at the main inn, but with the same charm. The gourmet breakfast again options were spectacular. We love the location of... More

We re-visited the Hartwell House after many years and found it just the same as when we first came there. The rooms with a view to the lovely landscaped grounds are so restful. Having some hot tea in the communal dining room on a rainy day, and then walking the very short distance to Perkins Cove made a perfect day.... More

The Hartwell House is a lovely B&B. We stayed in the Marsden Hartley Suite. The staff was warm and accommodating. The inn was immaculate. A few small complaints: 24 hr. coffee was frequently understocked (e.g. lack of take-out-cups, milk, etc.), and breakfast was served very early (8am) so we consistently missed it. The day we made it though, it was... More

The Hartwell House Inn - absolutely marvelous accommodations. We stayed in "The James Wilson Room" on the first floor. The room has french doors to a private porch overlooking the garden . We had an excellent breakfast on the front porch, (see photos). The Inn is very close to Perkins Cove, and to everything in town. We highly recommend this... More

We stayed at the Hartwell House last week and found it a very nice place. There were a few problems with our stay, but the managers were extremely helpful. We had to be switched to a different room the first night as the air conditioner did not work in our original room. This room we were switched to was the... More

I've stayed in the inn before but this time stayed at their property across the street in a one bedroom suite. This is a perfect location to walk to Perkins Cove or into town. The innkeepers are welcoming and accommodating. They serve a lovely made-to-order breakfast in the dining room on the glassed-in front porch or outside by the garden... More
