We stayed (my brother and me) 5 days in the KLW Camps, in Windy pitch cabin, it was a marvellous stay ! The place is incredible, just on the shore of the magnificent Katahdin Lake. Stunning views on the Mount Katahdin, and if you have ever forgotten what the TRUE silence and quietness is, this is your place !! You... More

I've stayed at Katahdin Lake Wilderness Camps two consecutive Februaries (2011 and 2012) and I can't say enough about how wonderful my experiences were. The setting is magical; the staff are invariably friendly, helpful, and accommodating; the meals are hearty and delicious; and the lodge and cabins offer cozy, rustic comfort. The world needs more places like this! I hope... More

we stayed for three nights and could easily have stayed longer. The cabins are really comfortable, the food is excellent - all the childrens needs were catered for, even our picky eaters. Holly and crew could not have done any more for us, they are always ready to help with anything - it was raining for our first two days... More

We hiked in with my folks in their 70's and my kids (6 & 8). It was generally a pretty easy 3.3 miles for the whole crew (400 feet verticle change and a number of six inch boardwalks over boggy sections), though both grandparents and grandchildren were delighted to finally arrive! The cabins are tight, clean, cute and comfortable. Ours... More

It was an incredible trip!! We have gone 3 years in a row now. We were looking for something really away from it all with some of the comforts of home. We found it here. The scenery is breathtaking. Looks more like something from the Rockys. Fly in by plane if your not a hiker by Katahdin Air out of... More

We did our 9th annual couples hike this year to Baxter into the camps. The hike is very easy, shady and mostly flat. It takes a little more than an hour to hike the 3.3 miles in. The cabins are AWESOME!!!! Clean with gas stoves, bedding, a cooler with ice, drinking water is provided, and the hospitality from Holly Hamilton... More

If you love nature, but don't need any frills then this is the place for you. You hike out about 3 miles to this gorgous lake with small cabins on it. We heard loons, saw moose, saw bald eagles. We paddled using their free canoes to see nature at its finest. Fishing is excellent too. Hatches are incredible. We had... More

Stayed for a week and wished we could have stayed longer. Although the wet weather this summer made the hiking a little muddier than normal, it is well worth it when you arrive at the camp and experience the breathtaking view of Mt. Katahdin. The cabins are great and you hardly notice the absence of electricity or running water because... More

Before considering this camp, you should know: 1. You have to hike or fly in 2. Cabins have comfortable bunks, wood stoves and propane lights and cookstoves, but no electricity or plumbing (outhouses are nearby, ample firewood is supplied, and you get a large thermos jug of water to use in your sink), and there are no shower facilities. 3....
