Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My boyfriend and I came across this bed and breakfast after camping in the North Maine Woods. We needed a place to stay for the night to get cleaned up, before heading back in the RV. The pictures on the website looked just like something I've always wanted; a cabin on the lake! It is a beautiful log cabin with a quaint bedroom upstairs in the loft. An older couple owns the house and their stories were amazing. My boyfriend and the gentleman shared hunting and fishing stories, and the lady of the house was very accommodating. We sat in the dining room, overlooking the lake, and talked for hours about their lives together over the years. We are in our 30's but it was so neat to hear their love story and how the bed and breakfast came to be. They treated us as if we were family whom they had known for years. If you are looking for a beautiful and relaxing environment, this is the place! It was actually sad to leave them... We will surely return in subsequent years.

The place is a beautifull log cabin ON the lake filled with antiques, a canoe for you to use, and a dock for swimming. As the other reviewer said the pics and address listed on T/A are wrong.  It's kind of like staying with your parents. A very nice retired couple live here and rent out the (1) spare bedroom upstairs. You are the only guest, and their bedroom is right below your room. You can hear them talking.  There are no keys, and they wait up for you to come home at night. You walk in the door and through the middle of the living room to go upstairs to your room.  The bath is in the hallway, not connected to the room, and the hallway is a loft, open to the whole house. The soap in the bath is a big bar of soap, just like you would have at home, but it's not fresh for each guest. There are several big bottles of shampoo in the shower.  There was hair on the toilet and in the shower. It was also small with a sloped ceiling and a very cool sink in a barrell.   The bedroom  was huge with a double bed, with standard sheets. The view from the room is amazing and the sunsets over the lake are beautifull. This side of the lake is where people come to watch the sunset.  Breakfast was very good with fruit and blueberry pancakes with bacon. We enjoyed some time chatting with them before we left.  There is no internet and no computers. Verizon 3G did work well. Room has DirectTV and no A/C (which we didn't need). They do not take credit cards, and they may not have correct change if you use cash.

First of all the photo shown was a completely different building. The Sundown -Bed & Breakfast is a hand crafted log home built on several levels on a secluded spot overlooking Moosehead Lake. I've added some photos for you, since the owners are not computer literate. Second, you have the wrong address. It is Sundown Bed and Breakfast at 1 Woodland Drive, Greenville, ME. This is on the East shore just out of town off the road to KOKADJO.

The moment we saw our hostess and her beloved Bogie, 20 odd years ago at our first Seaplane Fly-In, we knew we had found our "diamond in the woods". Their cozy log home magestically positioned directly on Moosehead Lake has been our delight all these years. The home is beautifully appointed with treasured antiques and is open and bright. You are lulled to sleep by the call of the loons only to wake in the morning to peer out your window at the gorgeous view of the lake. The smell of your gourmet breakfast awaits you starting your day off on the right foot. There is no breakfast time schedule to keep, so you can relax and enjoy the entriguing conversations of your host and hostess. If you are planning a trip to Moosehead Lake, look no further for your vacation get away.

We stayed here for a couple of nights. The house is beautiful with a lot of charm, and the hosts are quite friendly. It's a beautiful location on the lake. Breakfasts were top notch. One poor point is that the shower stall is small and the shower head quite low. Otherwise, a good place to stay!
