It's not Bar Harbor, Mt Acadia or Kadahdin but it's accessible, affordable, friendly, and beautiful. Hike Mt. Megunticook for a good workout & great views then take gentle stroll through nearby Fernalds Neck Preserve for a view of Lake Megunticook and some mushroom foraging (if you time it right). Only drawback-level sites for RVs are limited--reserve or get there early!... More

The next time we are in Camden, Maine, we are staying here. Reasonable off season rates. Close to town yet still very much in the woods. Private wooded sites with water and electricity if needed. Oh and to mention some great family hikes with beautiful ocean vistas. There is also some Technical Rock Climbing here if your an experienced climber... More

My family and I spent a beautiful morning hiking the Megunticook trail in the state park. The payoff was amazing - sweeping views of ocean, lakes and hills at Ocean Lookout. However, this is a strenuous 1 mile climb over a lot of rocks. While the trail is mostly shaded, do not underestimate the need for proper hiking boots, plenty... More

An all you need campground. We are in a 27 foot trailer with one slide. The sites are very spacious, treed and private. The washrooms are clean with free showers. Lots of hiking, if you are a biker you can easily ride into the town of Camden to take in it’s shops and sights. The only thing I could see... More

We car camped here for two nights. Friendly, helpful staff. Ultra clean restrooms, with hot showers and plenty of hot water. The camp sites have fire rings and picnic tables. The sites are not crowded and the park was quiet and well-run. We had a perfect stay. The park provides free wi-fi at most of the sites.

Definitely worth the 3 bucks per person to drive/ hike up to the top of Mount Battie. The view is gorgeous!

Camden Hills State Park was a quiet and clean campground. The bathrooms were very well maintained and there was a convenient dishwashing sink outside. Park staff were friendly and recommended day hikes and attractions in the area. Don't miss driving up Mt Battie. We also climbed up Mount Megunticook- GORGEOUS. It is a fair climb, about an hour or so... More
