We cannot say enough good things about our 3 day stay at the Ecolodge Fiordo Queulat! Juanito cooked the most delicious food on our entire 18 day trip in Chile. Although we speak very little Spanish, and he speaks no English, he was very patient and friendly with us to communicate and make sure that we were always comfortable and... More

The location is beautiful right at the edge of the national park and near the water. The food prepared each day was also very nice .... in this part of Chile the food tends to be locally grown which is nice. The lodge with the fireplace was very relaxing. Very close to the hike up to the hanging glaciar in... More

Thank you very much for the great feed backs........and yes one of the highlights of the lodge is the cuisine. We take special care to choose only fresh products and when possible regional products. We also have our own vegetable garden to be able to provide our guests with fresh and organic products. Plus we have Juanito - host and... More

The cabins are simple, buy cozy and nicely located very close to Queulat national park secluded from civilization includng internet, cell phone, TV or radio. Juan, our host/cooker is extremely nice and helpful. He makes wonderful chilean food. We ate asado, sopaipillas, plateada, mote con huesillos and other chilean cuisine delights. Breakfast coffee was freshly brewed with freshly home made... More

We very much understand our customers. In February/March 2012 we lived a very painful social uprising wich did not allow to continue with our business and we lost all our passengers for the rest of the season. These passengers had paid 50% of the reservation and were caught just in the middle of this uprising, however they were able to... More

I programmed to stay 3 nights in january 2012, but it was such a terrible place that I had to flee. The cabin was very rustic and dirty. The surrounding area stunk, because of the sewage water. False expectations, never worth the expensive price and the difficulty to getting there. The owner did not try a bit to solve our... More

Unfortunatelly these passengers, especially the spouse, were very disappointed in the lodge. They were expecting a more luxurious hotel with marbles and mirrors............our lodge is absolutelly different. It is a native wood lodge, without internet or cell phone signals, wood stove heating, very simple but comfortable. Our hightlight is that we are in the heart of the Queulat national park,... More

A friend and I stayed here three nights in May, 2011 to do some hiking in Queulat National Park. The lodge is ideally located, about 15 minutes from the trail to the Hanging Glacier (Ventisquero Colgante) , and about 45 minutes - 1 hour south of Puyuhuapi (the road was closed for construction and the ferry added to the travel... Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Posada Queulat (before Fiordo Queulat Ecolodge), is located in the very heart of the Queulat National Park right by the “Carretera Austral” (southern highway), 131 miles north of Coyhaique and 19 miles south of the village of Puyuhuapi. The lodge is very strategically located within the park since it is close to all the interesting trails and only 5 miles form the entrance to the “Ventisquero Colgante” (Hanging Glacier). The lodge has 5 beautiful cabins made of native wood and a very comfortable Club House to relax by the chimney. Each cabin is heated with wood stoves and has private bathroom. All meals are served in the Club House, regional and fresh products are prepared in a wood burning kitchen. The lodge is located by the Queulat Fjord and we operate a wood motor boat (up to 10 pax) for excursions along the fjord where most commonly “Toninas” (austral dolphins) and Sea Lions can be seen playing in the calm waters. The excursion includes a visit to a beautiful tiny island owned by the lodge, with a spectacular view of the Hanging Glacier. Also the lodge offers a hike along a private trail to a 395 ft high waterfall. The trail goes into the virgin temperate coastal rainforest and the guide will show the guests the different trees and under wood vegetation unique to this kind of austral rainforest. Forest birds such as the Chucao Tapaculo and the Huet Huet are seeing during the hike. Guests also can enjoy fishing and kayack in the fjord – we provide all the equipment for kayacks. ... more   less
