My husband and I took a trip to Decorah to celebrate my birthday and booked a two night stay at the historic Hotel Winneshiek in the beautiful downtown . We have been to Decorah before and loved the area so a trip to do some sightseeing and a bit of trout fishing was on the agenda. Our room was the... More

Decorah's Main Street is the town's biggest asset and this remodeled hotel is the place to stay. We stayed in a basic room and found it to be perfect in every way. being able to choose a book from the bookshelf in the hall was a nice touch.

My daughter and I stayed at the Winneshiek for two nights while visiting Luther College. The hotel is in the heart of downtown Decorah with ample parking behind. It is beautifully decorated with plenty of sofas and chairs in the lobby. The rooms were very nice, far from your average chain hotel. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms well equipped and spotless.... My spouse and I recently stayed at the elegantly appointed Hotel Winneshiek in Decorah, Iowa for an anniversary getaway, and found it friendly, quiet, and big on charm and helpfulness. Recently remodeled and updated for modern needs, this 1905 gem keeps its old-world decor but has thoughtful touches and amenities to please any guest. The concierge was especially helpful; our... A perfect hotel. An easy walk brings you quickly to every delight in this wonderful town: Luther College, Vesterheim Museum, gift shops, lovely old houses, yummy restaurants! We had a reasonably priced King Suite with lots of room. It was so very comfortable, cheerful and clean. They have very lovingly restored this grand space, and it felt like home; not... More

Romantic hotel with old world charm. If you can, upgrade to a suite. We did and it was worth the few extra dollars. Our room was beautifully decorated. Entryway/foyer, large king bed, huge sitting area, one and a half baths, fridge. We loved the room so much we didn't want to leave to go out to eat. It's located right... More

Once again we have enjoyed a fabulous weekend at this lovely hotel. I am typing this by the fireplace as I wait for the rest of my party to go into Sunday brunch. This is the one hotel I think of when I plan on a relaxing get away!

Great breakfast in the morning and restaurant on site with fabulous dinner menu. Located within walking distance to other downtown restaurants and shops.

Stayed here for two nights while visiting Luther College. Outside it was cold, cold, cold. Inside the hotel everything was warm and welcoming from the fire in the lobby to the front desk staff to the wonderful beds. My room was right near the elevator and I never heard a sound from outside my room. I was really surprised. I... More
