First time stay, two nights. The lobby feel was warm and lively. The guest room was small and a bit cramped. We will try again and see about room options.

We really like the funky laid-back vibe of this Kimpton property, and it's a regular favorite. Their staff tries to remember the guests' names and is willing to help with everything from gratis toothbrushes to loaner umbrellas. I like the non-Michigan Avenue location. It's close to the theaters, has a very solid restaurant, and the wine hour and hot chocolate...

We stayed here for a college audition for my son. The building is very nice and the staff very helpful. The design is more modern, but very comfortable. I do enjoy the layout and amenities of the room. Look at these, which are more than most hotels. Including a humidifier free upon request, also an exercise kit to use, also...

This hotel is Nice, but I would not go back. I have been to Chicago several times, rather stay on Michigan ave. They have cocktail hours & free drinks in the lobby around 5 pm. If you get a good deal & willing to walk, go ahead.

I really enjoyed my stay in both Chicago and at the Hotel Allegro.
We experienced very friendly service; the wine hour is definitely a good idea to leave satisfied customers. All facilities were to a high standard and worked efficiently.
Any drawbacks?
The location is great for business travellers, but if you're a tourist, it leaves you a little away...

I'm not kidding -- those are their names. Great staff, huge and stylish room (jacuzzi king suite), ridiculous value, good food, Aveda bath products, comfortable beds. I will admit i'm a loyal Kimpton customer and love earning those free nights. This is the second time I've stayed at the Allegro -- first time was several years ago. I'm enjoying this...

My husband and I stayed here during a recent visit for a Bulls game. I just have to say that we loved the location, the price was right, and our cat was welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. The wine reception is a nice touch, and we enjoyed the Encore Lounge, where the service was phenomenal. Actually, the service all...

This is the second time I've stayed at the Hotel Allegro. This time was only for a single night but this will definitely be my hotel of choice for return trips to Chicago. The location is perfect, right in the Loop/Theatre District. It's classic, art deco styled hotel that, while upgraded, has retained that its character.
The rooms are a...

I would like to start this review by getting the theme of “The Adams Family” in your head, complete with the timely finger snap. Are you with me? Ok…here we go… Da dun dun dun / snap snap…
Once out of the cab, a gruff bell man emerged. He didn’t say 2 words to us and didn’t look particularly happy...

I am so sorry to hear that you had this type of experience at our hotel. It sounds like the sense of arrival was certainly lacking and this is extremely disappointing that our staff treated you in this manner. I will certainly use your feedback to improve upon our services from the front door to the front desk. Thank you...

We've stayed at the Hotel Allegro three times now and it just keeps getting better and better! We brought our dog with us this time. Kimpton hotels are truly pet-friendly (i.e., NO additional charges for your dog's stay.)
The location of the hotel is great--walking distance to plenty of restaurants and shopping.
We can't wait to come back.
