Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My company held our annual convention here and the staff and catering were spectacular. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was great. The hotel is recently fully renovated so everything looks good and the rooms were nice and comfortable. The bistro bar and lobby were great places to hang out between sessions and get drinks at night. We didn't have to leave the hotel though it isn't far from Boise and Top Golf Right is right down the street.

Our company rented a conference room for the day. We were working with clients and were finishing up. A young man named Jesse came in holding a contract and using a very rude and unprofessional tone said we were 30 minutes last our time of 9:00pm (9:30pm) and we needed to leave NOW. He didn't come in and professionally ask how much longer would we be there etc. he came in a rudely proclaimed this in front of our clients. When I tried to explain to him we hold these workshops 50 weeks a year at hotels all over the country and we've never been forced out or talked to in this manner he told us "Their customers know the rules" and we need to go. When we first got to this hotel a woman came in and saw we came in with personal drinks (Mountain Dew) she told us we were not supposed to have outside beverages....We will make note of this location and will never come back. And Marriott Corp will be notified also.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We apologize that your event did not go as expected. It is certainly distressing that one of our staff members did not provide the service level you have come to rely on from our hotel. We will definitely review the proper procedures and service levels expected with our team member.

Stayed at this property over the Thanksgiving holiday. The website indicated that guest rooms will be undergoing renovation from Oct. 1, 2023- 15 Feb, 2024. It says the public areas will be affected between Dec. 18, 2023, and Jan. 12, 2024. However, upon arrival, we discovered that most of the public areas were under construction. The front entry is closed and guests are diverted to a side entrance for access. This entrance is not wheelchair accessible. It was late when we arrived and didn't want to switch hotels and have issues getting the first night refunded, so we stayed. When I emailed customer service at the property about the lack of accessible entrances, they said that there was in fact a rear entrance that is accessible and that I should have asked. Maybe so, but if that is the case, there is no signage indicating a second alternative temporary entrance. I was also told that the renovation information is clearly noted during the reservation process. It is there, but is completely inaccurate (see photo). It says that public spaces will be under construction/renovation from Dec. 18, 2023 - Jan. 12, 2024. We stayed from Nov. 22-26, 2023. I did not ask for a refund or compensation, and none was offered. I would not have booked this property if I had known it was going to be inaccessible to my handicapped son who would have visited us here, and that would be torn apart.

Thank you for staying with us and sharing your experience Roger M. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience your encountered with an ADA accessible entrance. As with any major renovation, schedules can sometimes change from the original plan. Although we tried our best to communicate the renovation schedule in all areas, it appears we failed to adequately label and direct guests to alternate ADA accessible entrances early enough. We have since resolved the issue and all entrances are open and available for our guests. We hope you will come back and visit us once the renovations are complete so that we can show you some of the many improvements we have made to the hotel.

They only bad thing about this hotel has nothing to do with the hotel—it is the traffic —if you need to turn left you are going to sit, if you are going to go thru the neighborhood and try and turn right on the main road south you will still sit, poor planning has this formerly quiet area turned into high traffic mess, the noise isn’t readily noticeable in the hotel unless you open windows. Plan accordingly if you need to get somewhere in a hurry.

This hotel is far above Marriott’s usual high standards. The rooms are clean and well maintained, the lobby is comfortable with little separate seating areas that we used for conversation. I was there dealing with a family crisis and I was very stressed out. The staff were incredible from the housekeepers to the desk staff to the food workers. They went way above and beyond expectations for customer service. Next time I’m in Boise I’ll most definitely stay at this Courtyard again.

I am a Hilton Diamond member who has found myself staying in areas where there are more Marriott properties so I am diversifying my hotel chain loyalty and doing a “status match challenge” to Marriott Bonvoy. Check in was smooth and my Gold status loyalty was recognized. The rooms were very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Unfortunately, the hospitality at this location was very sub par. At check in I was advised that the restaurant would be closed due to a “no call no show” of the wait staff. There was a few of us staying here and we were disappointed to hear we would not be able to Enjoy a meal on property so we went offsite. When we came back, we were going to enjoy a drink but the pantry was not replenished and the front desk associate told us she would not sell any of the bottled beer from the bar (which you could visibly see) and it was only around 8 PM. On our second night, we got back after a long day of work and was hoping we would be able to come back and enjoy a cold beverage to end our day. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed again, the pantry was still Not restocked and the front desk associate was not willing to sell us a beer from the bar. Prior to check out, wait staff was preparing for breakfast. I attempted to purchase a coffee from the barista at around 6:10 am but she told me she wouldn’t make coffee until 6:30 am when they open even though she was just sitting behind the desk playing on her phone. I guess bringing in revenue isn’t something this hotel strives for. Overall, I am questioning switching my hotel chain loyalty to Marriott. This hotel was easily able to Accommodate its guests but chose not too. There is clearly some room for improvement here. I Average 150-200 nights a year on the road and if the service at this property is a preview of how my Marriott experience will be going forward, it is evident that top notch hospitality is not very prevalent with the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio.

This place really deserves 3 1/2 stars. Staff was great for our super late arrival. Rooms were nice-ish but wasn’t really happy to see so many hairs in the bed. Bed looked clean and I think the hairs were from the laundry but still… View out the window was less than optimal.

Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and I sincerely apologize for failing to meet your expectations. Your experience is not typical of our hotel, we want you to know that we are working with housekeeping to see how this may have happened and how to prevent it from happening in the future. We do apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused and hope that you will still consider us in the future.

Wow, if this is what Marriott has come to, I'll be taking my loyalty elsewhere. Don't bother with this property when in the Boise area - there is PLENTY of competition with non-Marriott branded hotels (Holiday Inn, Hampton, etc.). No water in the lobby ("go to the gym"), no cafe on a Saturday morning, disregarded information in my Marriott profile at check-in. Dated rooms. Then, the crowning event: the person at the front desk who was training someone else (in an absurd example of what NOT to do), told us at check-out that we'd be charged for 1/2 day when we returned <1 hour later than expected after a delayed wedding (even though we called on the way back to alert them). Called Marriott "customer service", and was told I'd be contacted by someone at the hotel... received an automated email response that did not answer my question which led to more calls. After waiting on hold for hours over a couple of weeks, no one apologized at any point along the way (with over 5 different hand-offs, ending with an indifferent and insincere "lead" at corp "customer service"). Unacceptable service from the hotel and Marriott corp. As one review said on the Marriott site, talk about sullying your brand.

Dear kirklandkat, Thank you for choosing to stay at the Courtyard Boise West/Meridian and providing your honest feedback. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and we sincerely apologize for falling short of meeting your expectations. We do have a lot of new staff members at this time and we are working diligently to get everyone trained and up to speed as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, when hiring new associates there is always a necessary training period before they will be able to check in guests without help. I would always recommend reaching out to the property directly if there are any issues with your stay as it takes quite a bit more time to handle disputes when going through Marriott customer service. We would be happy to address any concerns you may have if you are able to reach out to us directly. Once again, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Sincerely, Lindsay Goddard Assistant General Manager Courtyard by Marriott Boise/West Meridian Lindsay.Goddard@Marriott.com 2088880800

My husband and I were on a road trip and this was our last night. We stayed here because it was close to the airport and we had an early flight. The room was nice, but tight. The bed was a king and there was a curved love seat, that really had room for only one person, and a coffee table. All that made the room really tight. There were also numerous restaurants in the area.

Dear alpw, Thank you for choosing to stay at the Courtyard Boise West/Meridian. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and we sincerely apologize for falling short of meeting your expectations. Many of our rooms offer twin sized pull out sofa beds inside the room, in the future you can always ask for a room that does not include a sofa bed so that you have more space in the room instead of extra furniture you may not need during your stay. We apologize for any inconveniences having a sofa bed in your room may have caused and we hope that you may consider staying with us again in the future. Once again, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
