Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed in cabin 49 for 5 nights and it was probably the best cabin/condo rental experience we have ever had. Within 2 hours of arrival we spotted a momma moose and two babies near the river and later spotted maybe an otter. So much thought has gone into providing every comfort for guests from an impeccably stocked kitchen with every utensil and pan to bedside phone charger/alarms. The gas fireplace was perfect for knocking off the chill in the evenings. Wouldn’t change a thing! Well done Cabin 49!

We stopped in for lunch over Labor Day weekend. Both the manager and our server were very friendly and efficient even as the restaurant got busier. The place was very clean and the atmosphere was typical sports bar. We had Buffalo wings and the fish tacos ( which were recommended) which were all delicious. Lots of beers on tap. We would highly recommend stopping in for a great meal.

We started staying here when my oldest son (now 37) was just 2. He and his sister and i wanted to relive some of that fun past history, (when we would stop here en route to my parents in Wapiti and have a float in the Buffalo River and a special cabin and a great dinner) on a recent trip we did together in mid-June. We have always had a cabin here, and we loved them, even loved the old cabin (that is gone now) that was tiny with a tilted floor. This trip just felt awful. They put us in #8-1, which is in their new buildings that are like a motel and is also used for employee housing (room next to us had two waiters)... I asked Ponds to move us and they said they were full, and we could check out and get a refund, which was absurd as that area was completely sold out. I had paid them in March for a room. That day, we were there early. We felt they could have switched us out to another room. The employees next to us were sweet but we heard them partying (and throwing up) well after midnight. Also could hear the people on the other side. The sofa bed sleeper tilted backward at the head and we had to keep it in the tilted 'tv watching' position to sleep. The room and kitchen were okay, but the AC pipes outside kept us awake as kept running loudly every 10 minutes for hours. I have usually found the main staff for the cabin portion were really pretty cold. They were not friendly or helpful. Restaurant staff often nice, but we were so bummed out at the whole situation we just cooked our dinner and boycotted the restaurant. We are done. I feel pretty sure they could care less.

Looked at several reviews for different places for dinner in Island Park, Idaho. Have never been here and didn’t really know we were going here. We found Ponds. When in Idaho you’ve got to have potatoes so we ordered the skins. Man we’re they good. Completely loaded! My hubby ordered the chicken fried steak and was pleased. I asked the server what was good. She recommended the shells and cheese. It did not disappoint. It was so flavorful and there was enough that I have lunch for tomorrow!

Stopped in for dinner on a Friday night. Service was good, food was average. We had two hamburgers, one fish and chips, 2 bowls of clam chowder and 2 sodas the bill was $85.00. keep in mind this is in a bar not an upscale restaurant. Ponds management know they have a pretty captured audience and they gouge patrons, bad for diners. Won't be going back anytime soon. Will be going to Cafe Sabor.

My husband and I stayed at Ponds Lodge early in August. The cabin we stayed in was nice and fairly new. But no chair, only a night stand. Luggage on floor, carpeting was damp the entire time. Road to cabin, very rough! Loud people with ATV and cars, flying up and down the road. No one even talked with them. No air conditioning, it was 90. No ceiling fan, or any air movement. The coffee was not even in a sealed bag, the filter was wrapped around a pod of coffee. For the price of 192.00 they should do 100% better. Had to wait around till the store opened to get the deposit back for our key. Never will go back or recommend.

Located about 25 miles from West Yellowstone. We were assigned "new" cabin 6-3. Toilet seat was not attached, ran out of hot water with the first shower, no place to put and open suitcase. Dirt road to the cabin was very rough. They graded it after the first night but it didn't help much. There is a coffee pot but no convenient place to plus it in. Stayed 4 nights. No cleaning service while you are staying. No one ever stopped to see how we were doing and they didn't ask when we checked. On stie restaurant was nice. They also have a convenience store and the highest priced gasoline in the area. It was about 30 cents per gallon cheaper about 5 miles down the road. Internet did work well and the room was quiet. We shall not return.

We stayed for a week in Cabin 25. a most delightful place. Furnish and equipped with consideration and thought. The 8 of us occupied the 4 rooms and found all the comforts of home in this place. The heating is good and simple to use, when required. The TV is a difficult and non-intuitive to operate. The track to the Cabin is muddy and rutty. They were pretending to be repairing it after winter and make it more even. There is little work done and no improvements in this aspect for the week we were there.

We were looking for a place west of Yellowstone to continue our trip. We settled for this place despite the cost. After staying here, the cost seemed even more expensive. The room and clean and quiet. However, we had to put the coffee pot on the floor to plug it into an outlet. Only table was one bedside. No chair of any kind in the room. And to top it off, the “driveway” from the office to the room was a muddy construction site! I’m just glad we didn’t arrive the day it was raining or we probably would not have driven the muddy potholes.

My friend and I stayed there in September to use as our base while taking in Yellowstone. I had a family emergency and needed to leave a day early. They charged me for the last day and then charged me for another night. I would not stay there again. Marilyn Edwards
