Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Only had one night here but the hosts were friendly and helpful. Location was very close to Clonmacnoise so it was an easy start in the morning and not to far away was Shannonbridge which was a good spot for dinner

Martin and Noreen went above being hosts in making my wife and I enjoy our 10 day stay. They have knowledge not only about local history but about Ireland’s history. They suggested sites to see outside touristy places which were great. The room was clean and very comfortable. Ask Martin about his boiled egg opener. The breakfast was good and plentiful Thank the two of you for making our vacation better. Ask Noreen about the bogs. Oh yes ask for a porridge smiley face 😊

We were in this B&B three years ago and were very satisfied. Although there are new owners, they are very welcoming too (and their cute dogs as well). The room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast is fabulous - ask for the recipe for the soda bread!. We got also welcome tea and cake and spent nice chat with Martin and Noreen. The house has a very good location (near of Clonmacnoise) and you can enjoy the sunset from the dinning room.We would choose it again in the future.

We just returned from almost 2 weeks in Ireland. We stayed in a total of 11 B&B's while there. Far and away our favorite was Kajon House. It was homey and clean but the hosts, Noreen and Marti Schroeder, were the best. They were so warm and welcoming and so accommodating we felt as if we were staying with friends. There was another couple staying there also and we all joined together in the common room and had a wonderful time sharing stories, experiences and jokes along with tea and homemade cake. The next morning Noreen cooked us a fabulous full Irish breakfast .(Many others said that they offered a full Irish breakfast but theirs were only partial.) She was also the best cook that we experienced although many of our hosts fixed excellent breakfasts. In my opinion this B&B was the best that we experienced during our stay in Ireland and I would highly recommend it to everyone. You will not be disappointed! Oh, they baked their own cakes and soda bread.

Kajon House is not far from Shannonbridge, only a few minutes from Clonmacnoise which we planned to visit, and only a couple of hours from Dublin so proved to be an excellent choice for our final stop of a driving tour round the south west of Ireland. Their website gives excellent directions, the sign at the front gate is clearly visible and there is plenty of off-street parking. We were welcomed by new owners Noreen and Martin who had only been in residence for a short time and after dealing with luggage we enjoyed tea and cake with them. We had a very nice ground floor room with expansive views across the garden and the countryside which is surprisingly flat. The room was large with plenty of hanging space. The en-suite bathroom has a walk-in shower. Soap was provided but no other toiletries. Breakfast was in the large kitchen which again gave us a chance to chat with our hosts. They were most helpful with advice about the best route back into Dublin.

Very clean home, with an amazing view. Our hosts were incredible, and so much fun to talk to, with great advice on things to do in the area. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip and would highly recommend booking at the Kajon House with John and Kate!

Hi Alison, Thank you for your wonderful words, it was such a pleasure to welcome you to Kajon House. I hope you both had a special day on the Cliffs. Give your parents our best and tell them to enjoy the craic (fun). Kate and John.

We were travelling around Ireland with our two dogs which Kate and John were happy to accept (by prior arrangement!), and spoil a bit. The welcome was warm, the scones and breakfast wonderful and the room just perfect for us. Kate was also able to supply us with good local knowledge including places for dog-walking! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kajon House to others. Phil and Caroline
