We kayaked 10 miles down the river, putting in at Gore's Landing campground. The river was clear with lots of wildlife-fish and otters. Looked like good fishing. Beautiful scenery along the way. The canoe outpost shuttled the car for a fee. We checked out their cabins, and they looked very nice, but we were not staying overnite on this trip.

Just came back from a 3 day canoe/camping trip. Rented canoes from Ocklawaha Canoe Outpost for 3 days (2 nights) and camped along the river. Crystal clear river water, good fishing (best river fishing I've experienced on any of the Florida rivers), and saw lots of wildlife. The owner is an older hippie guy, very friendly and helpful. He runs... More

Stayed one night on the way to kayak Ocklawaha River. The cabin while small of bathroom was comfortable and had everything one would need. Nice screened proch and barbacue pit. The administration was very helpful. They provided critical transportation to the put-in and brought the vehicle back for take-out. Everything went smoothly. A little noisy with proximity to river and... More

Close to the main road so there's traffic noise but tapers off after work hours. stayed in 2 room cabin. not very large but nice and clean, comfortable beds. fully furnished. Staff very pleasant.and two cute ducks-we called them Mike n Gary:) Firewood was more expensive than expected. We stayed for the convenience of the kayak down the Ocklawaha river. Guy... More

After reviewing some of the negative comments, we were hesitant to book our stay, but we are very glad that we did! The website described the resort perfectly. We are a family of 5 and although it was a bit tight, we all slept very comfortably. The cabin was very clean and well stocked (clean towels, dishes, detergent, pots, etc...)... More

Took our two kayaks down for a weekend of paddling. Found this place on the web while looking for a convenient location. Host was very nice and super accommodating bout check in times and had it all ready for us. Even called us to verify we were still coming when we were running late. Cabin was spotless, grounds were very... More

If you are looking for a change of pace and to get away from "typical" trips-this is your place. The website is spot on with their images of what to expect related to: accomodations, river and facilities in general. May was my 2nd visit-thunderstorms prevailed, but we still managed to get in a cool 4 hour paddle. Went nearby for... More

Way over priced. The "Luxury Cabins" as the website advertise's are extremely small. The large cabins include a "bedroom" that is about 12'x10' and sleeps 5 people! There are 2 sets of bunkbeds & that's about it in it. They say these cabins can sleep 6 - yes , but you'll be on top of each other. There are cobwebs... More

I wasn't sure what to expect after reading the mixed reviews on this site that span from 2007=2009. First of all, this is a rustic, outdoorsy spot - no frills. They have modern cabins that are clean and comfortable. If you are looking for an outdoorsy camping-type experience (and if you'd rather you can bring a tent or rv) this... More
