This is not a posh resort by any means, but is was one of the best ski-in/ski-out locations in Telluride. We literally walked right outside the hotel to grab our skis and the Gondola into the village was steps away. At the end of the day you can take the Telluride trail back to the hotel and ski right up to the door of the ski valet/locker - fantastic. One thing that I don't like about skiing is lugging your gear around. Well, you don't have to worry about that while staying at the Camel Garden Hotel. Another added benefit is the hotel is located in the town of Telluride and everything is in walking distance. There are some fantastic restaurants and bars to visit at the end of a fun ski day. My favorite was the Cosmopolitan which is right across the street from the hotel. One thing to note, it is not necessary to rent a car when visiting Telluride. We booked a round trip fair from Montrose to Telluride with Mountain Limo Shuttle. Great Service. I would highly recommend the Camel's Garden Hotel and I would stay here again if I get a chance to get back to Telluride.

Lovely, modern, stylish hotel with on-site underground parking available (fee) if reserved in advance; note that I got the last parking space in the tight garage as some spots are reserved for condo units & local businesses. Complimentary breakfast was cinnamon rolls, toast/bagels, oatmeal, yogurt parfaits, no hot entrees/eggs. Nice mountain view balcony rooms available (beautiful foliage in late Sept as leaves change). Rooms could use a touch-up paint job where prior guests' luggage has nicked the walls/support beams. Convenient location next to free gondola. I'd definitely stay again.

My fiancé and I were greeted in the lobby during check-in with an immediate invitation to have a complimentary glass of wine for happy hour. (Little did we know about the effects of elevation coupled with alcohol). The rooms were perfect for our needs; clean bathrooms, bed sheets, a fireplace, and a small balcony that looked into town and the towering mountains behind it. The outdoor hot tub was perfect every night to sooth our aching muscles with the high pressure jets followed by the sauna. The location was perfect for walking around town to grab food as well as RIGHT next to the gondola for snowboarding / dinner. 10/10 will be staying here again.

While a little pricey, this was an awesome stay in Telluride at the foot of the Gondola. We had a nice size room with a good bathroom. The heart of town was a couple of blocks one way and great trailheads a couple of blocks the other. This was definitely the best location. Additionally, there was parking under the hotel so we could simply leave our car here the entire time we were in Telluride. Again it was a little price but an awesome place to stay.

We stayed at Camels Garden in January of 2023. I can whole heartedly recommend this hotel! My husband and I travel extensively. Camels Garden is clean, and in a great location. It is step away from the gondola to the Mountain Village, and awesome skiing. Housekeeping was wonderful, and the breakfast (from 7am-9am) was great. No hot items like eggs and bacon, etc., but for those that just want to fuel up before hitting the slopes, it hits the mark. You can get toasted bagels and bread, along with yogurt parfaits and cereal with fresh fruit. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The large hot tub was fantastic after a long day of skiing. Having a ski valet was also really nice. We just dropped off our skis and went up to our room. Within walking distance of all sorts of shops and restaurants. We will definitely come back!

We stayed here a few years ago and liked the location, although not the price! When we wanted to visit Telluride again, we decided to stay here as it was more reasonably priced than other hotels, although still the most expensive of the fourteen hotels we stayed in on our road trip. On the plus side, the location is absolutely ideal for the gondola to Mountain Village and for W Colorado Ave and the included breakfast was good. However, our room lacked any charm and had neither fridge nor coffee maker (we commented on this last time we stayed), although we did find coffee available in the breakfast area.

The location of this hotel in Telluride is very good, but the hotel itself needs to step up to be more than average. As we were checking out, the hotel clerk said (without any comment from us) that they were preparing to update to become a five-star hotel. Too bad we weren't able to benefit from that - a return trip to Telluride is unlikely. We had a double queen and the room was huge with very high ceilings. Huge is usually a plus, but in this case, it was just a lot of empty space full of not much. We felt lost in it. There was no refrigerator for restaurant leftovers or purchases, no microwave, and no coffee maker. It was hard to get the heat to work on chilly mornings, and the fireplace had been turned off. The high ceilings made the room exceptionally chilly. The beds/pillows were uncomfortable, and the linens didn't seem all that fresh. The restaurant was closed while we were there. A Housekeeping Closet was right next door to our room, and in the early morning hours, a young lady (likely an employee) was sitting on the floor outside of it - in our pathway to walk to and from our room. While we liked being close to the gondola, the hotel itself was just not the great.

I recently booked Camels Garden when a friend of mine came in from the east coast. Unfortunately, we needed to cancel due to Covid, and we were out of the cancelation window. I would need to make several calls to see about getting a refund. That wasn't the problem, and I was happy to go through the hoops as I fully understand the situation. However, when I finally spoke to someone in charge, the response was really surprising. I got the impression they would rather people stay there with a positive Covid test than have any kind of refund policy for this kind of thing. I sent images of our positive test, drove home my sick friend, and decided to call when I got there, knowing it was important to stay away from others and knowing full well I could be out of $400; I thought the response would be of appreciation. Autumn responded to my request with: The only way I would be able to give money back because you canceled at 7pm (I was driving home sick to Denver) was to resell the room. Fortunately for you, we did. I will refund your CC it will take 5-7 days to show" No thank you for choosing our hotel, no I hope you are able to stay again soon, no wishing us well after having covid. NOTHING. I did get the refund. However, I was left thinking they were put out by our honesty. So beware! Understand, This company has no Covid policy, and for that kind of money, people might very well think it's too much trouble and just stay there. I won't ever be staying there, and I travel to Telluride a lot, but I found that response cold and unacceptable.

Spent 2 nights here this summer. Nice size rooms, great hot tub and the location can't be beat, steps from the free gondola and dozens of restaurants, bars, and shops. pet friendly, in fact Telluride is on the whole pet friendly.
