great staff, taking care of all your needs but at the same time not always in your face making you almost feel as if your at your own private getaway. Canoeing through the lakes was an incredible experience for our little one. We will be return visitors as often as possible. This is one of the most beautiful places in... More

Best place for nature rest and seclusion in Nova Scotia During the winter months. Nature trails covered in fall leaves, brisk morning hikes, warm toasty fires, the smell of home cooking your cottage. I can't wait to come back in the summer.

The setting couldn't be better, the lake is amazing for swimming, kayaking and canoeing. Plenty of availability of rentals even though the place was booked solid, so you dont need to bring your own unless you want to for some reason. Service was okay. Food in the restaurant was nothing exciting, but okay. The price of these cabins is a... More

I'm giving it 4 stars because of the location. As for service...the location alone earns it 4 stars. Service is unexpectedly inconsistent and often disorganized. There was a definite difference between the way new guests were treated and the way board members and annual guests were treated. If you've never been here, it's important to note that if you want... The setting, the cabins, the lake and the wildlife all as magical as can be, but, for the price they charge, the service lacks attention and warmth. We stayed at the Hallow this past summer for 7 days and was impressed by everything but the service. It seemed very hard to get answers from anyone about prices of canoes and... More

My spouse and I recently stayed here for two nights. The property is reminiscent of summer camp, with a large main lodge, a tuck shop, and many rustic cabins situated around the lakes. The cabins themselves are very primitive with running water available only in the bathroom. Dishes are supplied, but not pots and pans so if you plan to... More

My family and I have been steady annual guests (2-3 trips per year) at Milford House for five years. The natural beauty of the setting, the freedom for the kids and our love of canoeing kept drawing us back. We don't mind the rustic cabins and up until this year the meals have been fine. However after only one trip... More

Loved the rustic nature of the SIkes cabin - lots of hot water, dry firewood and kindling, clean throughout and fresh linen. Having the lake 4 steps from the porch was wonderful. The others who share the recent Labour Day weekend were a pleasure to be with. My highest regards to the staff, friendly, patient, kind and caring. Once is... More

Excellent place to relax by the edge of the lakes for a family vacation that is a real vacation for the whole family. Our 13 members of family just spent another week "together" and fun was had by all. My husband and I had our usual cabin "Grier" named for the original family that used it in the 1930's, our... More

We enjoyed 3 nights for our 10 year anniversary at the end of June.Being able to wake in a rustic cabin, walk 50ft to my dock and paddle to the lodge for breakfast was a neat experience. We spent hours on the water paddling with our Duck Tollers in pursuit. I think we were in 4 different lakes, carried over... More
