Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great, quiet KOA in a beautiful area. We were in site 11, one of the nice big back in patio sites and we had a lovely view across the way. Sites were clean and level. Staff makes their rounds frequently. Check-in was easy and the store was robust and well kept. They will make and deliver Hunt Brothers pizzas for you at an affordable price. Our site had shade and a big fire pit. It's about 40 minutes from downtown Denver. The campground sits at about 9,000' elevation which is just above the mark for altitude sickness so drink a lot of water before you arrive and over the first few days and give yourself a little time to acclimate. There are 2 hot tubs onsite and they have a $3.50 pancake breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

I generally refer to KOA as ‘Kids All Over’. We try to avoid them. Sometimes they are the only game in town. This location was what we needed in our travels on I70 over the Rockies. I’ll dub it ‘King Of them All’. Admittedly, during the off season, we have stumbled across some good KOA locations. This, definitely due to the site we had, was the best! Great staff. I took advantage of the on-site pizza. Great price for a very good pizza. Outstanding experience.

Nice size sites on concrete pads. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Camp store has a lovely gift shop. Pancake breakfasts available every morning for $3.50. Lovely table and Adirondack chairs at each site along with bench in front of fire ring. Playground and panning for gems on site. Highly recommended!

Wow, even though it felt like out of the way, this was our 13th campground and was the best so far. Very spacious campground between campers with nice fire pit, grill, picnic table with umbrellas, and more. They have plenty little towns all around to go visit and you must visit them. And going to one of the gold minds must. Clean bathrooms and showers, 2 hot tubs, play areas for kids and games all round the gift shop/store. Nice laundry room. Have lunch in Idaho Springs must as well.Central City was more like a casinos town.

We had an amazing stay at this KOA, and we kept saying, "This is what KOAs are supposed to be like!" It was just ten minutes away from I-70 so no highway noise, had great views, a campstore with everything you could possible need, and they even had a breakfast cook who for $3 or so would cook you up a stack of pancakes in the morning! Staff was super nice, helpful, accommodating. Oh wait... did I mention they have a hot tub? Above and beyond. Thank you KOA!

We had a great experience at this KOA. Sites were level and very clean. Outdoor furniture was provided at our side with cement pad and fire pit. Staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Great view of the mountains. Thin crust pizza and hot wings were very good. Clean bathrooms, showers and laundry. Would highly recommend to any RV traveler.

There were several negative reviews on another site. We were nervous about this place b/c of those reviews. But I feel I need to defend this KOA. Our experience was A+. These ppl here were so nice. Exceptionally nice. The campground is gorgeous. The views are spectacular. It’s at 8900 feet up, and we felt it.

I-70 COMPLETELY shuts down intermittently and this was confirmed during a phone call attempting to cancel our $100 reservation. The detour, with nowhere else to go but back, is over 200 miles (thanks Colorado DOT) of winding mountain roads going to an elevation of almost 12000 ft. We were not even half way through this mess at 3pm when we called. Told "can't cancel as long as there is an open road"! SERIOUSLY! Has anyone in this campground ever taken this detour? Told manager would call me the next day, she didn't. Filed complaint with KOA cooperate and still didn't hear from her. BBB is next as well as RV Parkey, FB, Twitter and any other campground referral site I can find. Stop before exit 87 east bound if you see the closed sign and wait until next day. DO NOT GIVE THIS CAMPGROUND A CENT UNTIL YOU ARE THROUGH THE GATE!

What really sets this KOA apart is the expansive view to the area below. Be sure to get a site with a view. The lots are gravel and level. Staff is friendly. It has nice amenities as well. It is located within driving distance to Denver and is accessible to the mountains in the west. Take some to look at the quaint western town below, too.

This is one of the nicest KOA's we have stayed at. It had a great staff. Nice sites. Well maintained with clean bathrooms and showers. It does not have a pool but our teenaged grandchildren enjoyed the hot tubs more than the pools at some of the other places we stayed. They offered an all you can eat pancake breakfast for $3.00 ages 12 yrs. and younger $2.50. This KOA also had some of the best pizza we have had. The wings were okay. We would stay here again if in the area.
