We stayed here at what we thought was a great rate. For 2 nights in January under 100 dollars and walking distance to the boardwalk we thought this was going to be a hit. Upon checkin we were even upgraded to a balcony room. The rooms were big, 2 balconies, one over looking the pool and parking lot. The place... More

We came as a family of four for a summer weekend. Location was fabulous and it was quiet. However, the room was pretty dumpy for the price. There was sand in the bathroom when we arrived, there was a 6-8 inch burn whole in the carpet, and it had a moldy/smoky beach smell to it. Did someone previous person have... More

I have stayed here several times before; it is kind of my go-to hotel for trips to Santa Cruz. I have stayed here before it was a Days Inn, and after, and its a very similar experience. The rates are the same as before it was bought out. They renovated it with fresh coat of paint and bedding, so thats... More

Most people have commented on the worn appearance of the rooms. True. However, the room I was in was spotless and very large. The bed was comfortable and there was soap, shampoo, conditioner and skin cream in the bathroom. I had arrived after 11pm and was checked in quickly. Two mornings later I was checked out quickly - despite the... More

Good service, but hotel room looked worn out (carpet & paint). Disappointed that the specific room that we reserved was not given to us because the current guests extended their stay. Overall a nice experience ... would stay again. A 3.5 rating out of 5. More

Great location - walk to attractions. Rooms are clean. Very nice continental breakfast. But I have to say, the Staff was AMAZING! I'm not sure why people are so quick to give a bad review, if you approach Management in a nice manner (like we did) they will genuinely help you out. I'm speaking from experience. We had an issue... I am always blown away by how much hotels in Santa Cruz cost. I have stayed at a brand-new Intercontinental in Monterey, a lovely Kimpton property in San Francisco, and at the Beacon Hotel on the Upper West Side of Manhattan for about what a plain-old outdated motel in Santa Cruz costs. But we need to go there about once... More

I appreciate reviews like this; I think they give the traveler the best picture of what to expect at our hotel. Yes, the building is not new. Yes, at the end of a busy summer season, there is some natural wear and tear. But also, yes, we are trying each day to improve the property and continue togive families and... More

We stayed in about 10 different hotels during our road-trip around California in late 2009. I kept the leaflet from this hotel and kept saying I'd write a review because we thought it was a good place. Almost 2 years later, here it is! Our room was really spacious, not dirty, we were on the top floor and had a... More

We were on the 3rd floor had a balcony over looking the Boardwalk. At night you could see the lights and hear people scream. Our room was very clean, great service. The staff was extremely helpful. Kids loved the pool so we decided to stay an extra day and before we left we booked the same room for next year.... More

There's a lot of see and do around Santa Cruz. About 20 percent of our guests registered for one night end up sticking around for a second or third. Hopefully, that's also a reflection on the value we're trying to provide. More
