The Black Heron Inn is in Pt.Reyes station, yet far from any noise (an issue if you are close to Hwy 1 and its bikers). Our room on the top floor was pristine at check-in. The open view from our front loggia over the Tomales Bay is spectacular, do not miss the colors at sunrise. We like the extreme privacy,... More

This inn is in a gorgeous setting, and bit by bit, the "inn" itself grows on you. When we first entered our room (the deluxe Grand View), it looked a bit shabby and down at the heels; the bed sheets were nice but the bed coverings and pillows were tatty and worn, and the furnishings otherwise quaint. The TV, if... More

Black Heron Inn is just outside Point Reyes Station which has a couple good restaurants and a charming casual ambience. Point Reyes National Seashore is just a few minutes away with great hikes and views. At the inn itself, we stayed in the Bay View suite which was roomy, clean, and well stocked with basic food. So it's self-serve which... More

We had the Grand view suite which has a great view and balcony. The location can not be beat. We did not like that the bedroom was up a steep stairs and the bathroom was downstairs so if you take that room be sure that does not bother you. The bedroom felt like it was decorated for your grandmother. The... More

Great location n beautiful place. Had cows in the pasture n wild turkeys greet us in the morning. Highly recommend. The room was fantastic with a great view (Bay suite). Even had binoculars in the room. Close enough to town, but far enough for privacy.

Two nights at this unusual B&B was a wonderful respite. We stayed in the Bayview room, which is fully equipped with everything you would need - coffee, tea, high quality fruit (plums, Gala apples, tangerines,) coffee cake, orange juice, 2% milk, butter, etc. So it's perfect for those who cherish their privacy and can live without a hot breakfast. The... More

We were very pleased with the Black Heron Inn. We were there midweek so we were the only guests which made it even more serene and quiet. The room was clean, nicely decorated, spacious, and equiped with what we needed. A coffee maker with great coffee, silverware and dishes, toaster....and then the "breakfast" of milk, orange juice, butter and baked... More

1) Gorgeous views of salt marshland and a rolling cow pasture. 2) A beautiful place for a morning hike. 3) They supply binoculars for guests! How adorable is that? 4) We saw the proprietors maybe once in a four-day stay. This was awesome. 5) Instead of requiring you to be at breakfast every morning, they leave you some fruit, cereal,... The view from your window at the Black Heron Inn includes fields, rolling hills and Tomales Bay in the distance. The vistas are a perfect complement to the extraordinary beauty of the Point Reyes National Seashore. While the location is a couple minutes outside of Point Reyes Station, the directions on their web site are easy to follow. The Black... More

I'm writing this overlooking verdant, rolling hills that meet the Tomales Bay as I sit in the "Grandview Room" that my wife and I are occupying at the "Black Heron Inn". The accommodations are wonderful in this quaint, very well furnished room and loft where the small bedroom is located. The bathroom, with shower only is spacious, with heated wall... More
