Annually we travel off season to visit lighthouses. This year we stayed a weekend at Holly Tree Inn's Sea Star Cottage. GOOD: Location - the cottage is on the quiet side of the bay and on the water. The kitchen is well-equipped and the faux wood burning stove keeps the cottage warm. BAD: Oh, where do I start? * The... More

Our family of four stayed in the Holly Tree Inn Vision cottage. Although Point Reyes is a wonderful spot, the Vision cottage (at $638 for 2 nights with no breakfast and no maid service) was a disappointment. This cottage could have been nice in the past, but not now. Poorly functioning, dirty hot tub, slow draining sink, leaking faucet, inadequate... More

We received a gift certificate for cottage in the woods...what a disappointment...the heater was too small for the room & it never warmed up, the breakfast was mediocre at best (not what one might expect from a region known for good food...ie. stale croissants, canned juice)...the bed linen was made of some synthetic fabric...it would have been OK for $100.00... Wow. I just stayed at one of the Holly Tree Inn locations and I can honestly say that I will ONLY stay here when staying in Inverness. The small, private cottage was so charming and peaceful I actually felt my heart drop as I locked the door to leave. Artists, couples, singles, writers, etc seeking solitude and longing to detach... We stayed here for 4 nights in late September. We originally planned on 3 nights, but did not want to leave the beautitul Point Reyes National Seashore or the terrific Holly Tree Inn. It has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, great owners, and very nice breakfasts. The location is extremely quiet and only seldom could any traffic be heard. What could... More

We stayed in the Mary's Garden room. A little small but very comfortable, quiet and clean. Woke up to the sound of quails one morning. The breakfasts were delicious, we had french toast one morning with huckleberry syrup made from huckleberries grown in their garden. The host, Amanda, was very friendly and helpful.

I stayed at Holly Tree main house recently and the following is based on my experience: Bed & Breakfast Inns are fast becoming a lost art. Some are pet projects of first timers, others are so pretentious they're uncomfortable. The Holly Tree B&B is a balance of tradition and relaxation that these Point Reyes locals have been pulling off since... More

We stayed for one night at the end of a trip to California and chose the inn at random from the Lonely Planet guidebook . We were very happy with our stay . Amanda was a helpful host and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast with homemade scones and quiche . The house is old and charming and it was interesting... More

I have stayed here twice. The first time was in a room in the main house. Everything was wonderful. The second time was in the attachment to the main house. It was lovely except for the fact it was cold all night and the heater did not get warm enough and when we started a fire the fire alarm would... More

The people at holly tree are very nice, but not very inn like. If you're an early riser forget about coffee until 9am or later. The location is awesome and beautiful. The breakfast is very disappointing if you like protein in you're breakfast. You really don't get to choose your breakfast. Overall, the stay was ok, but only because of... More
