Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our stays at the Westin Desert Willow Villas in Palm Desert are always so relaxing. One can simply sit by one of the beautiful pools and read/get some Vitamin D - or use it as a starting place to explore more adventurous settings. Walking/hiking is within easy reach and there is great shopping on El Paseo.

We stayed two weeks on family vacation. We have done this for three years.Grounds are beautiful and mostly quiet. Pools clean and well stocked. Condo was very comfortable. The staff was excellent, particularly the housekeepers. We never waited long for any request. Only two negatives: $25/day car fee and lack of good all day restaurant. We

We stayed at the Westin for 4 nights on a 4 week family holiday to the USA. We arrived here in week 3 and it was a much needed break and a good opportunity to recharge, relax and rest. We booked a 2 bedroom villa and it was enormous! Lots of room for everyone to spread out. The hotel has multiple pools so you can choose to swim in the one closest to your room. Hotel has Starbucks coffee in the main convenience store by the lobby/main pool with a good selection of snacks, gift, holiday items. The pool had a good bar with drinks, standard pool food and some good healthy options (veggie sticks and dip were good and well received after 3 weeks of burgers/fries etc) Only downsides are not a lot of dinner options on site (no room service when we stayed) and you need a car to get around. Lots of food options near by which are accessible by car. Overall a great stay.

The pool areas and grounds great, the room and reception terrible. My friend booked with some Marriott points and we got worst room, 2112. Bed was so soft and lumpy, could barely get out of it. Dishes and cutlery were inadequate. Sink was gross dirty. Reception couldn’t seem to figure out the reservation. The pool area and grounds are beautiful and very clean. For price wouldn’t stay here again.

Nicely furnished villa, kitchen well stocked. Room didn't get any direct sunlight, but had a nice patio. The pool and grounds were well-maintained. Restaurant had limited options, but easy to use door dash. We were not there to hear a time share talk.

Rude staff, dark rooms, super depressing, regret booking here. The people in palm desert are nice but the people working here are transactional and unkind! I would never book here or recommend to a friend. The couch in the room is very uncomfortable and I'd never stay here had I known.

Recently visited the property for four nights on a timeshare presentation, which I declined to purchase. They are asking close to $35K for timeshares now! What a racket… I was given a room that apparently was only partially remodeled, as they mention their recent renovation- but it is not complete, and the rooms allocated for people attending time share presentations are the dates ones, which in my opinion doesn’t make someone apt to buy what they are trying to sell. A few things to know up front- regardless of if you’re booking “as a renter,” or as an owner- they now (effective 1/1/24) charge $25 plus tax per night for parking. One more way to squeeze their guests. I have found this to be across the board with Marriott properties lately, and they are less likely to waive parking charges than they ever were before. I was given a room in building three on the second floor that had a balcony facing the golf course right by the 14th tee. The room had a gas fireplace and a full kitchen with cookware, plates, glasses, etc. which is a nice touch, considering there is no breakfast at this property, and the Adobe restaurant was closed (for no apparent reason) on my first night here. HINT: Trader Joe’s was my go to place to get provisions for the condo. It’s about 4 miles from the resort. I cooked all my meals in the room. Whatever you do, do not try and run the fireplace and the heat at the same time. The first night I did this, and it got up to 81 degrees in the room. It was like a sweat shop. I really released a lot of toxins that night! The engineer came the next day and told me just to leave it on auto cool at 72 degrees or it would get too hot. I feel like this is a detail that should have been brought to my attention at check in, but was not. The amenities are nice, including pools, water slides for children, hot tubs, steam room, sauna, fitness center, tennis, golf, and pickleball. The fitness room was great, and had a lot of newer equipment, but it was crowded on the morning I was there so I didn’t stay as long as I would have otherwise. The Mirage pool was way too cold to swim in. I’m not sure they are heating any of the pools- or if they are, they are not warm enough for a comfortable swimming temperature in the winter. On another note, there are numerous walking paths around the resort, which I really enjoyed. I was going to go to the Adobe Restaurant on my last night and listen to the live music, but there were scores of unsupervised young children running around screaming- so I pulled the plug on it. All and all, I had an ok time here. But due to the seemingly lack of caring and aloof service of the staff, coupled with the issues I incurred- I can’t rate this resort as more than just average.

This place used to be nice when owned by Westin. Now it is a dump; looks like an extended stay with drawers falling apart and furniture that has definitely seen better days. Also if you are a timeshare owner here you are definitely a second class citizen; no upgrades, late checkin and early check out! Don’t buy their time shares.

The villas were well appointed, nice and clean, and had all the amenities we needed. But what really stood out was the customer service! I happened to leave my AirPods behind in my bed when we left and I thought there’s no way that I was going to get them back. But housekeeping had turned them in to the front desk, and, when I contacted the lost and found office they were able to ship them back to me! Thank you Westin for your excellent customer service at all levels!

The upgraded villas are nice, but they were not complete & caused some inconveniences. Also, Do not plan to do any laundry ! The new washer/dryer in one machine is horrid !!! No instructions for use; it doesn’t stop between wash & dry. The dryer isn’t vented so the moisture doesn’t t leave your clothes & they will not dry. The drum is tiny & the wrinkles can’t fluff out in the dry cycle. The machine is practically the floor & hard to access. There was nowhere to hang clothes to finish drying…. I hung them from the dining light fixture. This was a terrible change from the stacked washer/dryers.
