I discovered Harbin by attending many workshops of the Human Awareness Institute, held in Harbin's Conference Center. Since then I've returned several times just to soak in their pools and unwind, most recently just this weekend. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, the natural clothing-optional ambiance is just right for me. Highly recommended if you enjoy skinny-dipping or can share... More

Item 1: they dance around saying this, but Harbin is basically a naturist resort. People WILL be stark naked anywhere food is not being sold (although in winter when I went, most of the nudity was at the pools). Only go if you're okay with this. The place is pretty self contained. You are expected to park your car a... More

Harbin Hot Springs is definitely a unique experience - very low key and peaceful. Each room is decorated differently. The food is good and plentiful and the pools relaxing. I would recommend coming during the week as the weekends can get very crowded. Ditto during times that there are large gatherings and/or workshops. My only complaint is that the mid-week... More

This is a funky, New-Age retreat center with all the amenities of a spa. Come here if you don't mind skinny dipping in your choice of hot, warm or cold springs. Use the sauna and steam room and be sure to take advantage of the wonderful massages, evening activities and yoga classes. During the day there are several hiking trails... More

We live in Boise Idaho and traveled 4 times in 2012 to Harbin Hot Springs in California. We went to attend Tantric massage classes, which were absolutely fantastic, and loved our time at Harbin. To us this place is more of a spiritual retreat with time and space to unwind, meditate, and relax. We have stayed in the Domes, which... More

I've spent three days at the Harbin Hot Spring and it has been really awesome!!! I've been invited by a friend who is a resident there so I've been guest at his place and for this reason I can't review the accommodations but the staying at the pools, the restaurant, the cafè and the market where really fine. We stayed at Harbin for one night, but really wished it could have been more. My boyfriend and I are big fans of hot springs and Harbin was not disappointing. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Right away when we arrived we felt welcomed and comfortable asking questions, which can be especially important when trying to figure out... More

I'm an experienced Hot-Spring enthusiast that has traveled throughout California, Oregon, and Washington visiting both wild and developed hot springs. Harbin Hot springs is awesome because of how much you get for the money. Prices are cheaper on weekdays, and those are the best days to come due to the influx or people from the Bay Area on weekends (it... More

10) They don't like me being loud and splashy at the meditation pool. 9) When I act like a jerk they treat me like I'm a jerk. 8) Bad maid service. Strike that. No maid service. Expected to pick up after myself. 7) No wifi. No cell phones. How am I suppose to check my work e-mail every ten seconds?... More

I recently visited the springs with a friend that frequents them often. He talked about them for several days so the experience was not as great as the anticipation. We went at night and stayed for several hours trying each of the springs several times. The whole place had a weird, not quite comfortable vibe. The patrons seemed diverse in... More
