Breath taking is the only way to describe the views from the front porch of this classic building, built in the 1800's. The views of Mt. Shasta are amazing, and this place sits on acres of beautifully manicured grounds, with grass and trees. My wife and I found this place, and spent a night there over the past summer and... More

What an amazing home with beautiful landscaped grounds; not to mention, the owner, Alice, and other hostess, Francis, are so warm and welcoming. Alice knows all the history of McCloud so pick her brain (she did, after all, grow up in the town built on lumber). The Guest House is enormous and the craftsmanship is like nothing else. Breakfast was... More

Some friends and I had a reservation at another hotel in McCloud but didn't like it. We went to the local bar/restaurant to ask for recommendations and several people there said: the Guest House. We got there but nobody was there, so called the number on the front door and within minutes the owner Alice was there showing us around.... More

It's expensive; there is a reason all area hotels except this one were full. The expense includes breakfast. We had to leave quite early... earlier than the scheduled breakfast, which is not at all early. It would have been gracious to have offered at least a bowl of corn flakes, or told us something we could grab ourselves, but nothing... More

Romantic, sweet , quiet, beautiful. We went on the dinner train and stayed in a sweet little room, Got caught up in the moment on a bench under a huge old oak tree and locked ourselves out :)the nice lady let us back in at 3am witha smile on her face. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast after watching the sun rise... More

This is a wonderful inn. Ken and Deborah are terrific hosts - down-to-earth, friendly, but let you enjoy your vacation quietly if you'd rather not engage in conversation. Great place to walk around the lovely town, read a book on the large porch with rocking chairs, fall asleep by the fireplace at night. Breakfast is great!!! Highly recommended at anytime... More

We ended up booking a room there at the last minute since we decided to go on the dinner train in town. We ended up staying in the Honeymoon Suite. It isn't very big, but it has a nice large bathtub that comfortably fits two. The room was very clean and the staff were very nice. The breakfast provided wasn't... More

My wife and I loved the McCloud Guest House. The grounds and views are beautiful! The house is absolutely beautiful and there is lots to do. We enjoyed watching movies in the TV room with free video and DVD rentals from the local video store. We also played pool and enjoyed the cozy atmosphere with a large central fireplace and... More
