Good location. Not at the beach, off PCH, but $110 vs. $400 nearby. Simple. Clean. But, deadbolts don't lock. Wireless router not connected to Internet. No soap or shampoo. Simple things stopping this from being a great place. Not bad if no big expectations. More

A quirky, cozy hideaway near the beach. I emphasize: it's a beach motel- not the Ritz, not the Radisson, not The Ramada. This was our third visit in the last few years and we'll stay there again. Here's what to expect: a clean, modest, comfortable room, a sweet little patio in back, flowers, butterflies, the scent of eucalyptus on the... More

We found this motel to be very very expensive for what it is. It was the last night of our honeymoon so it was a really disappointing end. The rooms were tired and not particularly welcoming. More

As a single woman traveling on my own, I can say this was the most frightenig Motel I have ever been in. I was exhausted, paid without checking the room, and that was a mistake. I had a blanket in my car and put that on top of the bed. I slept maybe` 2 hours between the roaring Santa Ana... More

My family booked three rooms in this motel sight unseen for a family funeral. Our drive was from Arizona to Malibu after work on a Friday night (arriving very late). Our stay was so unsettling that we got very little sleep. One room had bugs in the shower, dirt on the floor and the bed was like sleeping on boards.... More

Well, imagination is having the time of it's life. We've come up with every story of who, since when have stayed here, where the hidden video cameras are, and if we should hide out here if-n when we ever commit a heinous crime. The patio is great (smokers paradise) although we quit! Bring candles it's dark. Don't use bed spreads.... More

I am travelling with my husband on a four month world trip and staying here was one of the best nights of the trip! We had previously stayed in Santa Monica for five nights and had hired a car to travel up to San Francisco and were keen to stay in Malibu. After being told by the tourist info cabin... More

Phone didn't work, the back door blew open because the locks didn't work, the carpets were filthy and for what it was, it was very expensive. No one on duty after midnight & I woke at 3 am with strange sounds like someone walking down the sidewalk. I realized it was the window air conditioner, but I laid awake waiting... More

Dear mstcal: Please note, All of our rooms have ceramic tile flooring wall to wall. None of the rooms have window air conditioners. I don't know what motel you stayed at, but , in writing reviews such as this, please make sure you know what motel you stayed in first. Thanks, management More

The Malibu Riviera was the dirtiest motel I have ever seen in my life. We needed 2 rooms for our family and checked the 3 rooms that they had available. They were all disgustingly dirty - especially the room closest to PCH with a tile floor which according to the Riviera wedsite had been remodeled. Even though it had 2... More

We were traveling north and decided to stay in Malibu. We stayed for two days and enjoyed the local life. The rates are reasonable and the accommodations are nice and clean. We loved Malibu beaches and the motel owners new a lot about local beaches and breaks. Next time we will stay longer in Malibu. Thanks- Dylan& Lori Brophy More
