Just spent a night here using a Groupon. We were quite satisfied with our stay. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the fireplace a nice touch. Just a couple of blocks from the heart of Carmel made for a nice relaxing time. The staff are very nice and accomodating. If you want a nice, budget place to stay... More

The Dolphin Inn is by no means "super fancy". The beds however are incredibly comfortable and the Inn is very clean with nice huge flat screen TVs. It is very conveniently located and a perfect launching off point for Carmel. It does however, have a bar in the hotel (one of the few in carmel that stays open late) which... More

The rooms were very nice and extremley comfortable. The fireplace was an excellent touch that added to our enjoyment. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was the best. We have stayed there many times over the years and will continue to make it our home base when we are in Carmel. More

There are many reasons why we love The Dolphin Inn. The location and on-property parking are probably the most important, but the rooms, the staff, the brought-to-your-room breakfast are also highlights. We had a lovely fire in the fireplace each night which was especially nice on those cool evenings in Carmel. We'll be back! More

The Inn's location is great; we enjoy being located in the heart of Carmel so that we can walk to the theatre, restaurants and shops. The Inn's staff is lovely. More

This property is in a fantastic spot for toodling around downtown Carmel and Ocean Beach. Pros: Fireplace: comes in handy when the fog rolls in. Location: very good Cons: It is an older property that could use cosmetic/structural upgrades. Walls not very soundproof, linens/bedding/fixtures are old. Pool area nice to have, but again, aging. But if you aren't planning on... More

Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Rates are reasonable. Love the fireplaces. Close walking distance to everywhere in downtown Carmel. Love the breakfast basket, cookies, tea and flavored water in the lobby. More

Nice room, clean with everything we needed, quick, efficient and friendly check-in. Good location, and breakfast delivered in an esky to your door in the morning! Would have liked to stay more than one night! More

We paid $200 a night for our family of four and I was very dissappointed by the room. I think we could have done much better for the price. On the plus side, the staff was friendly and helpful, complementary coffee/cookies were available at the office, courtyard is attractive with lots of flowers, a cooler was left outside the door... Regardless of what you call them, the Inns by the Sea in the Carmel area are over-priced motels. We found this to be true of the Dolphin Inn in Carmel. Obviously their pricing is due to their location, but there is little choice of places to stay in Carmel aside from B&Bs and motels. Their "continental breakfast" was brought to... More
