After our fourth week in Nevada City on business, we drove over to Carmel for the night for my birthday. I chose The Colonial Terrace Inn because of it's great location to the beach and good price for a Carmel Inn. Our room was small but very cozy and clean with a gas fireplace, queen sized bed, small bath and... More

This B & B is old so the heater at night make very loud noises and it's hard to sleep. Also the walls are thin so you can hear your neighbours conversations. The basic hotel neccessities such as a chair, a refrig, glasses are not in all the rooms.

This place was really great. We could see the surf crashing right outside our window. The room was very spacious and clean. The gardens out front were refreshing to look at, even in February. The breakfast was good, and the staff were very helpful. I would stay here again, absolutely.

Just returned from spending the night at The Colonial Terrace. What a great place! There were 5 of us and we had 3 rooms. The rooms have been renovated and look great. (We watch the Travel Channel show "Hotel Impossible" and are always looking for the things he notices at the places he goes to. Having bedspreads on the beds... More

Stayed at the hotel for two nights. We reached carmel after nightfall and had a tough time finding the hotel. cant blame them though as they dont have door number. called the front desk couple of times and the lady very patiently guided us to the hotel. i must say that the ladies atthe front desk do a terrific job.... The Hotel Tonight app had this listed and I took it. It is easy to find, a short distance from the beach and from fabulous restaurants. The receptionist served as a concierge as well, by making a reservation at a restaurant that served exactly what we were wanting for dinner! The room was great (vintage 1925-plus modern TV and Internet)... More

Me & my wife took part of our honeymoon here & it was hands down the best part of the trip. The staff was very supportive & nice. Our room was very enjoyable. It had a partial ocean view with a fireplace & great bed. I've read some reviews that bashed this place & how small or dirty it was... More

Carmel's best kept secret. Great location for a quiet restful stay. Receptionist and employees are very friendly and helpful. My room was small but quaint with fireplace bed was very comfortable. The lobby is very cosie and inviting with high-backed chairs and comfy pillows. One block away from Carmel Beach and an easy walk to Ocean Ave for dining and... More

We stayed two nights. Although the room seemed small and aged a little, it grew on me during the stay. The bed was very comfortable and who can resist hearing the sounds of the ocean all day long. Only a block away from the beach and is in a very quiet area of Carmel. The continental breakfast was better than... More
