Over the years, I've camped at most campgrounds in Algonquin but nothing appeals to me more than Canisbay. I've been going there since the mid-90's and seen many of the changes to the management, sites, trees, etc. Tried many of the sites but have to agree with a previous review that #157 is a "pond-in-the-making" during heavy rains, yet nothing... 4 of us just stayed at site #85 non hydro section and we were not impressed. The sites are so close together you can overhear normal conversations. Also adjacent to us was a site where an Asian family of 8 had 4 Toddlers. All of which were screaming/crying/balling the whole weekend. You are not allowed Radios but yet are forced... More

A few friends and I stayed at site #156, 157 & 158. Our site, #157, flooded! A river ran right through the middle of it. I don't suggest staying there. For the most part all the sites had good privacy and were located close to a set of washrooms. ( Vault toilets were better than some of the other parks... More

We stayed at Canisbay Lake Campground in the middle of September. First I want to say that the fall colors in the park this time of year are spectacular! Canisbay is a very nice campground. We stayed in site 244, which is right by the lake, in the electric section. You have to walk down a hill to get to... More
