Few places can rank with The Albannach. Starting with the most amazing drive to get there, this quaint family run place is on the Northwest coast of the Scottish Highlands in a fishing village. The hotel is a gem and the restaurant is a Michelin star. The culinary experience is outrageous and worth every penny. Once in a lifetime experience... More

Travelled all the way up from Beauly, near Inverness for Dinner at the Albannach. Outstanding food really like the idea of not having any choice as it is a fixed menu. Shows that the Chef is confident in the quality of his food. Will definitely return and stay here next time. In a week of wonderful food this one stood... More

Where else from your arrival to departure are you so well looked after you begin to take it for granted. The rooms are all beautiful, have tried most now. Service is superb and discreet. Setting is amazing. Dinner more an experience than a meal. What a shock to get home and fine that your every need is not catered for,... More

We were staying in Lochinver and on recommendation went for dinner at this Michelin star restaurant. A set menu dinner, it was five courses and absolutely fabulous. Our twelve or so fellow diners were very quiet and whispering to each other which was a little off putting, prompting the question "Is this is a reastaurant or a Cathedral?" Certainly it... More

Second stay in this wonderful place which we couldn't fault. Expensive but worth it for a special occasion. From the welcome with tea to the comfort of the room and of course the excellence of the dinner ( not forgetting the oysters as a canape nor the breakfast with proper porrige) we loved it. Try hard to afford it, its... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights on our holidays on way up to Orkney finally. It is SUCH a great place. The bedroom was very modern & 'boutique' with a lovely bathroom & lovely toiletries. It also had great views across to Suilven. It is actually difficult to review the food & do it justice! Suffice to say we... More

It is remarkable that this hotel is what it is where it is - the only Michelin starred restaurant on the West coast of Scotland. People come from all over the world just to stay and eat here. It's a small hotel with rooms scattered around the main building and some outbuildings, but they are well appointed and very comfortable,... More

Having not visited the North West of Scotland for nine years, the lure of a return visit to the Albannach was compelling, and we were not disappointed. Our bedroom, with stunning views over Lochinver and beyond, had been modernised almost beyond internal recognition, with an excellently equipped new bathroom. The food was superb, and with it's Michelin star, had all... More

Back for another visit to The Albannach - and as good as ever! Stayed for two nights and enjoyed a superb selection of food and wine. We were in The Byre again, just a few steps from the hotel. And the room still looks like new. Sue was as welcoming as she always is at dinner, helping with wine selection.... More
